Temor do Senhor
O temor do Senhor é o princípio da sabedoria. Não se trata de medo, mas de reverência profunda, respeito e admiração diante da santidade e grandeza de Deus.
O princípio da sabedoria
A Escritura afirma que temer ao Senhor é o primeiro passo para a verdadeira sabedoria. Quem teme a Deus discerne o certo e aprende a viver com prudência.
The fear of YHWH [is] the beginning of wisdom, || Good understanding have all doing them, || His praise [is] standing forever!
The commencement of wisdom [is] the fear of YHWH, || And a knowledge of the Holy Ones [is] understanding.
The fear of YHWH [is] the instruction of wisdom, || And humility [is] before honor!
And He says to man: Behold, fear of the Lord, that [is] wisdom, || And to turn from evil [is] understanding."
The fear of YHWH [is] clean, standing for all time, || The judgments of YHWH [are] true, || They have been righteous—together. They are more desirable than gold, || Indeed, than much fine gold; and sweeter than honey, || Even liquid honey of the comb. Also—Your servant is warned by them, "In keeping them [is] a great reward."
Bênçãos do temor
Quem teme ao Senhor encontra vida longa, provisão e proteção. O temor de Deus nos guarda do mal e nos conduz à humildade.
The end of humility [is] the fear of YHWH, riches, and honor, and life.
The fear of YHWH adds days, || And the years of the wicked are shortened.
The fear of YHWH [is] a fountain of life, || To turn aside from snares of death.
Iniquity is pardoned in kindness and truth, || And in the fear of YHWH || Turn aside from evil.
O the blessedness of a man fearing continually, || And whoever is hardening his heart falls into evil.
Taste and see that YHWH [is] good, || O the blessedness of the man who trusts in Him. Fear YHWH, you His holy ones, || For there is no lack to those fearing Him.
Vivendo no temor do Senhor
Temer ao Senhor é obedecer seus mandamentos, andar em seus caminhos e amá-lo de todo coração. Essa reverência se expressa em justiça e integridade.
you walk after your God YHWH, and you fear Him, and you keep His commands, and you listen to His voice, and you serve Him, and you cleave to Him.
and you have kept the commands of your God YHWH, to walk in His ways and to fear Him.
Serve YHWH with fear, || And rejoice with trembling.
Come, children, listen to me, || I teach you the fear of YHWH. Who [is] the man that is desiring life? Loving days to see good? Keep your tongue from evil, || And your lips from speaking deceit. Turn aside from evil and do good, || Seek peace and pursue it.
and now, let fear of YHWH be on you, observe and do, for there is not perverseness with our God YHWH, and favoring by appearance, and taking of a bribe."
You do not revile the deaf; and you do not put a stumbling block before the blind; and you have been afraid of your God; I [am] YHWH.
and you do not oppress one another, and you have been afraid of your God; for I [am] your God YHWH.
And when your brother has become poor, and his hand has failed with you, then you have kept hold on him, sojourner and settler, and he has lived with you; you take no usury or increase from him; and you have been afraid of your God; and your brother has lived with you;
And I say to you, my friends, do not be afraid of those killing the body, and after these things are not having anything more to do; but I will show to you whom you may fear: fear Him who, after the killing, is having authority to cast into Gehenna; yes, I say to you, fear Him.
