Temor do Senhor
O temor do Senhor é o princípio da sabedoria. Não se trata de medo, mas de reverência profunda, respeito e admiração diante da santidade e grandeza de Deus.
O princípio da sabedoria
A Escritura afirma que temer ao Senhor é o primeiro passo para a verdadeira sabedoria. Quem teme a Deus discerne o certo e aprende a viver com prudência.
The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom;
All those who follow His commandments have a good understanding;
His praise endures forever.
The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom,
And the knowledge of the Holy One is understanding.
The fear of the Lord is the instruction for wisdom,
And before honor comes humility.
"And to mankind He said, ‘Behold, the fear of the Lord, that is wisdom;
And to turn away from evil is understanding.’ "
The fear of the Lord is clean, enduring forever;
The judgments of the Lord are true; they are righteous altogether.
They are more desirable than gold, yes, than much pure gold;
Sweeter also than honey and drippings of the honeycomb.
Moreover, Your servant is warned by them;
In keeping them there is great reward.

Quem teme ao Senhor encontra vida longa, provisão e proteção. O temor de Deus nos guarda do mal e nos conduz à humildade.
The reward of humility andthe fear of the Lord
Are riches, honor, and life.
The fear of the Lord prolongs life,
But the years of the wicked will be shortened.
The fear of the Lord is a fountain of life,
By which one may avoid the snares of death.
By mercy and truth atonement is made for wrongdoing,
And by the fear of the Lord one keeps away from evil.
How blessed is the person who fears always,
But one who hardens his heart will fall into disaster.
Taste and see that the Lord is good;
How blessed is the man who takes refuge in Him!
Fear the Lord, you His saints;
For to those who fear Him there is no lack of anything.
Vivendo no temor do Senhor
Temer ao Senhor é obedecer seus mandamentos, andar em seus caminhos e amá-lo de todo coração. Essa reverência se expressa em justiça e integridade.
You shall follow the Lord your God and fear Him; and you shall keep His commandments, listen to His voice, serve Him, and cling to Him.
Therefore, you shall keep the commandments of the Lord your God, to walk in His ways and to fear Him.
Serve the Lord with reverence
And rejoice with trembling.
Come, you children, listen to me;
I will teach you the fear of the Lord.
Who is the person who desires life
And loves length of days, that he may see good?
Keep your tongue from evil
And your lips from speaking deceit.
Turn from evil and do good;
Seek peace and pursue it.
Now then, let the fear of the Lord be upon you; be careful about what you do, for the Lord our God will have no part in injustice or partiality, or in the taking of a bribe."
You shall not curse a person who is deaf, nor put a stumbling block before a person who is blind, but you shall revere your God; I am the Lord.
So you shall not wrong one another, but you shall fear your God; for I am the Lord your God.
‘Now in case a countryman of yours becomes poor and his means among you falter, then you are to sustain him, like a stranger or a resident, so that he may live with you. Do not take any kind of interest from him, but fear your God, so that your countryman may live with you.
"Now I say to you, My friends, do not be afraid of those who kill the body, and after that have nothing more that they can do.But I will warn you whom to fear: fear the One who, after He has killed someone, has the power to throw that person into hell; yes, I tell you, fear Him!
