Temor do Senhor: o que é e como se manifesta na prática
O temor do Senhor não é pavor de que Deus vá nos destruir, mas a consciência lúcida de quem Ele é diante de quem nós somos. Na Bíblia, essa atitude combina reverência profunda, obediência e assombro diante da santidade divina — o ponto de partida para qualquer vida sensata.
O ponto de partida da sabedoria
Na literatura sapiencial hebraica, a sabedoria prática não começa com acúmulo de conhecimento ou inteligência humana, mas reconhecendo o lugar de Deus. Sem esse alinhamento inicial, qualquer discernimento moral fica distorcido.
The fear of the LORD-Yehōvah [Messiah Pre-Incarnate] [is] the beginning of wisdom: a good understanding have all they that do [his commandments]: his praise endures forever.(Tehillim - Psalms 111:10)
The fear of the LORD-Yehōvah [Messiah Pre-Incarnate] [is] the beginning of wisdom: and the knowledge of the holy [is] understanding.(Mishlei - Proverbs 9:10)
The fear of the LORD-Yehōvah [Messiah Pre-Incarnate] [is] the instruction of wisdom; and before honour [is] humility.(Mishlei - Proverbs 15:33)
And unto man he said, Behold, the fear of the Lord-Adonai (The Father) [Greatest Above All Things], that [is] wisdom; and to depart from evil [is] understanding.(Job 28:28)
The fear of the LORD-Yehōvah [Messiah Pre-Incarnate] [is] clean, enduring forever: the judgments of the LORD-Yehōvah [Messiah Pre-Incarnate] [are] true [and] righteous altogether.
More to be desired [are they] than gold, yea, than much fine gold: sweeter also than honey and the honeycomb.
Moreover by them is youri servant warned: [and] in keeping of them [there is] great reward.(Tehillim - Psalms 19:9-11)
Os frutos de uma vida com Deus
O livro de Provérbios e os Salmos mostram que o temor a Deus protege a integridade e molda escolhas diárias. Reconhecer a autoridade do Criador livra o ser humano de armadilhas morais e gera uma vida marcada por sobriedade e paz.
By humility [and] the fear of the LORD-Yehōvah [Messiah Pre-Incarnate] [are] riches, and honour, and life.(Mishlei - Proverbs 22:4)
The fear of the LORD-Yehōvah [Messiah Pre-Incarnate] prolongs days: but the years of the wicked shall be shortened.(Mishlei - Proverbs 10:27)
The fear of the LORD-Yehōvah [Messiah Pre-Incarnate] [is] a fountain of life, to depart from the snares of death.(Mishlei - Proverbs 14:27)
By mercy and tiniquity is purged: and by the fear of the LORD-Yehōvah [Messiah Pre-Incarnate] [men] depart from evil.(Mishlei - Proverbs 16:6)
Happy [is] the man that fears always: but he that hardens his heart shall fall into mischief.(Mishlei - Proverbs 28:14)
O taste and see that the LORD-Yehōvah [Messiah Pre-Incarnate] [is] good: Blessed (Favored by God; happy; prosperous) [is] the man [that] trusts in him.
O fear the LORD-Yehōvah [Messiah Pre-Incarnate], you2f his saints: for [there is] no lack to them that fear him.(Tehillim - Psalms 34:8,9)
Como o temor se manifesta na prática
Nas Escrituras, temer a Deus nunca é um sentimento abstrato: traduz-se em como tratamos o próximo, na recusa em explorar quem está vulnerável e na fidelidade aos mandamentos. Jesus reforça essa perspectiva no Novo Testamento ao lembrar quem detém a autoridade definitiva sobre a vida e a morte.
You2f shall walk after the LORD-Yehōvah (Messiah Pre-Incarnate) your God-Elōhīm (The Living Word) [The Many Powered], and fear him, and keep his commandments, and obey his voice, and you2f shall serve him, and cling to (hold onto; stick to) him.(Deuteronomy 13:4)
Therefore youi shall keep the commandments of the LORD-Yehōvah (Messiah Pre-Incarnate) youi God-Elōhīm (The Living Word) [The Many Powered], to walk in his ways, and to fear him.(Deuteronomy 8:6)
Serve the LORD-Yehōvah [Messiah Pre-Incarnate] with fear, and rejoice with trembling.(Tehillim - Psalms 2:11)
Come, you2f children, hearken unto me: I will teach you the fear of the LORD-Yehōvah [Messiah Pre-Incarnate].
What man [is he that] desires life, [and] loves [many] days, that he may see good?
Keep youri tongue from evil, and youri lips from speaking deceit.
Depart from evil, and do good; seek peace, and pursue it.(Tehillim - Psalms 34:11-14)
For what reason now let the fear of the LORD-Yehōvah (Messiah Pre-Incarnate) be upon you; take heed and do [it]: for [there is] no iniquity with the LORD-Yehōvah (Messiah Pre-Incarnate) our God-Elōhīm (The Living Word) [The Many Powered], nor respect of persons, nor taking of gifts.(2 Chronicles 19:7)
youi shall not curse the deaf, nor put a stumbling block before the blind, but shall fear youi God-Elōhīm (The Living Word) [The Many Powered]: I [am] the LORD-Yehōvah (Messiah Pre-Incarnate).(Leviticus 19:14)
You2f shall not therefore oppress one another; but youi shall fear youi God-Elōhīm (The Living Word) [The Many Powered]: for I [am] the LORD-Yehōvah (Messiah Pre-Incarnate) your God-Elōhīm (The Living Word) [The Many Powered].(Leviticus 25:17)
And if youi brother be waxen poor, and fallen in decay with youi; then youi shall relieve him: [yes, though he be] a stranger, or a sojourner; that he may live with youi.
Take youi no usury (interest paid for using money) of him, or increase: but fear youi God-Elōhīm (The Living Word) [The Many Powered]; that youi brother may live with youi.(Leviticus 25:35,36)
And I say unto you my friends, Be not afraid of them that kill the body, and after that have no more that they can do.
But I will forewarn you whom you2f shall fear: Fear him, which after he has killed has power to cast into hell; yes, I say unto you, Fear him.(Luke 12:4,5)
