Temor do Senhor

Revering Yahweh is the way to become wise.

All those who obey his commands will know what is good for them to decide to do.

We should praise him forever!

If you want to be wise, you must start by revering Yahweh,

and if you know God, the Holy One, you will understand which teachings are wise/true.

If you revere Yahweh, you will learn how to become wise,

but only after you become humble will people honor you.

And then he said to humans, ‘Listen! To have an awesome respect for me is what will enable you to become wise;

and to truly understand everything, you must first turn away from doing what is evil.’"

It is good for people to revere Yahweh;

that is something that they will do forever.

What Yahweh has decided is fair,

and it is always right.

The things that God has decided are more valuable than gold,

even the finest/purest gold.

They are sweeter than honey

that drips from honeycombs.

Furthermore, by reading them I learn what things are good to do and what things are evil,

and they promise a great reward

to us who obey them.

Bênçãos do temor

Quem teme ao Senhor encontra vida longa, provisão e proteção. O temor de Deus nos guarda do mal e nos conduz à humildade.

The reward that Yahweh gives to those who are humble and who revere him

is that he causes them to be rich and honored and to live for a long time.

If you revere Yahweh, you will live for a long time;

but wicked people die before they become old.

Having an awesome respect for Yahweh is like [MET] having a fountain that gives life;

it will help you to escape when something dangerous is threatening to kill you [MET].

Be loyal to Yahweh and faithfully obey him; if you do that, he will forgive you for having sinned.

If we revere him, nothing evil will happen to us (OR, he will prevent evil things from happening to us).

God is pleased with those who always revere him,

but those who are stubborn [IDM] will experience disasters.

Find out for yourself, and you will experience that Yahweh is good to you!

He is very pleased with those who ask him to protect them.

All you who belong to him, revere him!

Those who do that will always have the things that they need [LIT].

Vivendo no temor do Senhor

Temer ao Senhor é obedecer seus mandamentos, andar em seus caminhos e amá-lo de todo coração. Essa reverência se expressa em justiça e integridade.

You must conduct your lives as Yahweh our God wants you to, and you must revere him, and do what he tells you to do [MTY], and worship only him, and ◄be faithful to/have a close relationship with► him.

"Do obey the commandments of Yahweh our God, and conduct your lives as he wants you to do, and revere him.

Serve Yahweh, fervently revering him;

Rejoice about what he has done for you, but tremble before him!

You ◄who are my students/whom I teach►, come and listen to me,

and I will teach you how to revere Yahweh.

If [RHQ] any of you wants to enjoy life

and have a good long life,

do not say anything that is evil!

Do not tell lies!

Turn away from doing evil, and do what is good!

Always try hard to enable people to live peacefully with each other.

So now revere Yahweh, and judge cases carefully, and do not forget that Yahweh our God never acts unjustly, and he never does what people want because of their offering him money; he never accepts bribes."

‘Do not curse deaf people, and do not put things in the path of blind people to cause them to stumble.

Do not cheat each other; instead, revere me. I, Yahweh your God, am the one who am commanding this.

‘If one of your fellow Israelis becomes poor and is unable to buy what he needs [IDM], others of you must help him like you would help a foreigner who is living among you [DOU] temporarily. If you lend money to him, do not charge any kind of interest [DOU]. Instead, show by what you do that you revere me, your God, and help that man, in order that he will be able to continue to live among you.

Jesus told them not to be afraid to tell others of their faith in him.

"My friends, listen carefully. Do not be afraid of people who are able to kill you, but after they kill you, there is nothing more that they can do to hurt you. But I will warn you about the one that you should truly be afraid of. You should be afraid of God, because he not only has the power to cause people to die, he has the power to throw them into hell afterward! Yes, he is truly the one that you should be afraid of!
