1 [{A Psalm} of David.] Jehovah is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? Jehovah is the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid?
2 When evil-doers, mine adversaries and mine enemies, came upon me to eat up my flesh, they stumbled and fell.3 If a host encamp against me, my heart shall not fear; if war rise against me, in this will I be confident.
28 And be not afraid of those who kill the body, but cannot kill the soul; but fear rather him who is able to destroy both soul and body in hell.
4 But I say to you, my friends, Fear not those who kill the body and after this have no more that they can do.5 But I will shew you whom ye shall fear: Fear him who after he has killed has authority to cast into hell; yea, I say to you, Fear *him*.
Confiança em Deus acima do medo
Quando tememos a Deus, o medo dos homens perde o poder. O Senhor está conosco, e se Ele é por nós, quem será contra nós?
3 In the day that I am afraid, I will confide in thee.4 In God will I praise his word, in God I put my confidence: I will not fear; what can flesh do unto me?
6 Jehovah is for me, I will not fear; what can man do unto me?
6 So that, taking courage, we may say, The Lord {is} my helper, and I will not be afraid: what will man do unto me?
22 Ye shall not fear them; for Jehovah your God, he will fight for you.
6 And thou, son of man, be not afraid of them, and be not afraid of their words; for briars and thorns are with thee, and thou dwellest among scorpions: be not afraid of their words, and be not dismayed at their faces; for they are a rebellious house.
