Filhos são uma dádiva do Senhor, uma herança que Deus confia aos pais. A Bíblia celebra a maternidade e a paternidade como vocações sagradas e fontes de bênção.
Filhos: herança do Senhor
A Escritura declara que os filhos são bênção de Deus. Cada criança é um presente precioso confiado aos pais para ser cuidado com amor.
3 Behold, sons [are] a heritage of the LORD, [and] the fruit of the womb [is] to be desired.4 As arrows in the hand of a mighty man, so [are] the young men.5 Happy [is] the man that has filled his quiver with them: he shall not be ashamed when he speaks with the enemies in the gate.:
3 Thy wife [shall be] as a fruitful vine by the sides of thy house; thy children like olive plants round about thy table.
9 He makes the barren woman to keep house [and to be] a joyful mother of sons. Halelu-JAH.:
28 And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful and multiply and fill the earth and subdue it and have dominion over the fish of the sea and over the fowl of the air and over every beast that moves upon the earth.
Instruir nos caminhos de Deus
A Bíblia orienta os pais a instruir seus filhos nos caminhos do Senhor desde cedo, com dedicação, disciplina e exemplo.
6 Train up a child in the way he should go; even when he is old, he will not depart from it.
18 Therefore, ye shall lay up these my words in your heart and in your soul and bind them for a sign upon your hand that they may be as frontlets between your eyes.19 And ye shall teach them to your children that ye may think of them sitting in thy house and walking by the way, lying down in bed, and rising up.
21 Fathers, provoke not your children lest they become disheartened.
17 Correct thy son, and he shall give thee rest; he shall give delight unto thy soul.
Cada vida é preciosa
Deus conhece e forma cada criança no ventre. Antes de nascer, Ele já nos separou e preparou um propósito para cada vida.
5 Before I formed thee in the belly I knew thee; and before thou camest forth out of the womb I sanctified thee, [and] I ordained thee a prophet unto the Gentiles.
13 For thou hast possessed my kidneys: thou hast covered me in my mother's womb.14 I will praise thee; for I am fearfully [and] wonderfully made; marvellous [are] thy works, and [that], my soul knows right well.15 My body was not hid from thee, even though [I] was made in secret [and] brought together in the lowest parts of the earth.
2 Out of the mouth of babes and sucklings hast thou ordained strength because of thine enemies, that thou might still the enemy and the avenger.
14 But Jesus said, Suffer the little children to come unto me and forbid them not, for of such is the kingdom of the heavens.
