Filhos são uma dádiva do Senhor, uma herança que Deus confia aos pais. A Bíblia celebra a maternidade e a paternidade como vocações sagradas e fontes de bênção.
Filhos: herança do Senhor
A Escritura declara que os filhos são bênção de Deus. Cada criança é um presente precioso confiado aos pais para ser cuidado com amor.
3 Lo, children [are] the inheritance of the LORD; the fruit of the womb [is] a reward.4 As arrows in the hand of a mighty man, so [are] the sons of the young.5 Blessed [is] the man who has his quiver full of them; they shall not be ashamed, but they shall speak with the enemies in the gate.
3 Your wife [shall be] like a fruitful vine by the sides of your house; your sons [shall be] like olive plants around your table.
9 He causes the barren to dwell in the house [as] a joyful mother of sons. Praise the LORD!
28 And God blessed them. And God said to them, Be fruitful, and multiply and fill the earth, and subdue it. And have dominion over the fish of the sea and over the fowl of the heavens, and all animals that move upon the earth.
Instruir nos caminhos de Deus
A Bíblia orienta os pais a instruir seus filhos nos caminhos do Senhor desde cedo, com dedicação, disciplina e exemplo.
6 Train up a child in the way he should go; and when he is old, he will not depart from it.
18 Therefore you shall lay up these my words in your hearts and in your souls, and bind them for a sign upon your hand, so that they may be as frontlets between your eyes.19 And you shall teach them to your sons, speaking of them when you sit in your house, and when you walk by the way, when you lie down, and when you rise up.
21 Fathers, do not provoke your children, lest they be discouraged.
17 Correct your son, and he shall give you rest; yea, he shall give delight to your soul.
Cada vida é preciosa
Deus conhece e forma cada criança no ventre. Antes de nascer, Ele já nos separou e preparou um propósito para cada vida.
5 Before I formed you in the belly I knew you; and before you came forth out of the womb I consecrated you, [and] I ordained you a prophet to the nations.
13 For You have possessed my inward parts; You have covered me in my mother's womb.14 I will praise You; for I am fearfully [and] wonderfully made; Your works [are] marvelous and my soul knows [it] very well.15 My bones were not hidden from You when I was made in secret [and] skillfully formed in the lowest parts of the earth.
2 Out of the mouths of babes and sucklings You have ordained strength, because of ones] vexing You, to cause the enemy and the avenger to cease.
14 But Jesus said, Allow the little children to come to Me, and do not forbid them; for of such is the kingdom of Heaven.
