Filhos são uma dádiva do Senhor, uma herança que Deus confia aos pais. A Bíblia celebra a maternidade e a paternidade como vocações sagradas e fontes de bênção.
Filhos: herança do Senhor
A Escritura declara que os filhos são bênção de Deus. Cada criança é um presente precioso confiado aos pais para ser cuidado com amor.
3 It is in vain that you rise up early and go late to rest, eating the bread of anxious toil; for he gives to his beloved sleep.4 Lo, sons are a heritage from the LORD, the fruit of the womb a reward.5 Like arrows in the hand of a warrior are the sons of one's youth. [ (Psalms 127:6) Happy is the man who has his quiver full of them! He shall not be put to shame when he speaks with his enemies in the gate. ]
3 You shall eat the fruit of the labor of your hands; you shall be happy, and it shall be well with you.
9 He gives the barren woman a home, making her the joyous mother of children. Praise the LORD!
28 And God blessed them, and God said to them, "Be fruitful and multiply, and fill the earth and subdue it; and have dominion over the fish of the sea and over the birds of the air and over every living thing that moves upon the earth."
Instruir nos caminhos de Deus
A Bíblia orienta os pais a instruir seus filhos nos caminhos do Senhor desde cedo, com dedicação, disciplina e exemplo.
6 Train up a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not depart from it.
18 "You shall therefore lay up these words of mine in your heart and in your soul; and you shall bind them as a sign upon your hand, and they shall be as frontlets between your eyes.19 And you shall teach them to your children, talking of them when you are sitting in your house, and when you are walking by the way, and when you lie down, and when you rise.
21 Fathers, do not provoke your children, lest they become discouraged.
17 Discipline your son, and he will give you rest; he will give delight to your heart.
Cada vida é preciosa
Deus conhece e forma cada criança no ventre. Antes de nascer, Ele já nos separou e preparou um propósito para cada vida.
5 "Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, and before you were born I consecrated you; I appointed you a prophet to the nations."
13 even the darkness is not dark to thee, the night is bright as the day; for darkness is as light with thee.14 For thou didst form my inward parts, thou didst knit me together in my mother's womb.15 I praise thee, for thou art fearful and wonderful. Wonderful are thy works! Thou knowest me right well;
2 O LORD, our Lord, how majestic is thy name in all the earth! Thou whose glory above the heavens is chanted
14 but Jesus said, "Let the children come to me, and do not hinder them; for to such belongs the kingdom of heaven."
