O que significa trabalhar para Deus
Trabalhar para Deus não significa apenas exercer um ministério dentro da igreja, mas realizar qualquer atividade diária com dedicação, como quem serve a Cristo e não a patrões humanos. Na perspectiva bíblica, a rotina profissional, a honestidade no cotidiano e o serviço aos outros são formas concretas de adoração.
Whatsoever ye do, labour at it heartily, as doing it to the Lord, and not to men; knowing that of the Lord ye shall receive the recompense of the inheritance; ye serve the Lord Christ.(Colossians 3:23,24)
and to seek earnestly to be quiet and mind your own affairs, and work with your own hands, even as we charged you, that ye may walk reputably towards those without, and may have need of no one.(1 Thessalonians 4:11,12)
O cristão que trabalha para Deus busca aprovação moral e prática diante do Senhor, unindo o conhecimento da Palavra à ação no dia a dia.
Strive diligently to present thyself approved to God, a workman that has not to be ashamed, cutting in a straight line the word of truth.(2 Timothy 2:15)
But be ye doers of the word and not hearers only, beguiling yourselves.(James 1:22)
Salvos pela graça para praticar boas obras
A Bíblia estabelece que o trabalho e as boas obras não compram o favor divino nem geram salvação. A justificação diante de Deus decorre exclusivamente da fé em Cristo.
but knowing that a man is not justified on the principle of works of law nor but by the faith of Jesus Christ, we also have believed on Christ Jesus, that we might be justified on the principle of the faith of Christ; and not of works of law; because on the principle of works of law no flesh shall be justified.(Galatians 2:16)
As boas obras são o resultado e a finalidade prática de uma vida transformada, e não o seu preço. Deus capacita o crente com generosidade e recursos para que ele viva de modo útil e irrepreensível no meio em que está inserido.
For we are his workmanship, having been created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God has before prepared that we should walk in them.(Ephesians 2:10)
But God is able to make every gracious gift abound towards you, that, having in every way always all-sufficiency, ye may abound to every good work:(2 Corinthians 9:8)
So that, my beloved, even as ye have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much rather in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling, for it is God who works in you both the willing and the working according to his good pleasure.

Cooperadores de Deus na Grande Comissão
Trabalhar para Deus também envolve participar diretamente da expansão do Seu Reino. Os cristãos atuam como cooperadores do Senhor, encarregados de proclamar o evangelho e ensinar novos discípulos.
For we are God’s fellow-workmen; ye are God’s husbandry, God’s building.(1 Corinthians 3:9)
Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptising them to the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit;(Matthew 28:19)
He that believes and is baptised shall be saved, and he that disbelieves shall be condemned.(Mark 16:16)
