Trabalhar para Deus vai além do ofício secular. É dedicar a vida inteira — palavras, ações e atitudes — ao serviço do Reino, reconhecendo que cada tarefa pode glorificar o Senhor.
Servindo ao Senhor em tudo
Quando trabalhamos como para Deus, cada ação se torna um ato de adoração. Não importa a tarefa — o que importa é o coração dedicado.
23 And whatsoever ye do, do it heartily, as to the Lord, and not to men: Knowing that of the Lord ye shall receive the reward of the inheritance;24 for ye serve the Lord Christ.
15 Be diligent to present thyself unto God approved a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.
22 But be ye doers of the word and not hearers only, deceiving yourselves:
11 And that ye study to be quiet and to do your own business, and to work with your hands, as we commanded you;12 That ye may walk decently toward them that are without, and may want nothing.
Chamados para as boas obras
Fomos criados em Cristo Jesus para boas obras, que Deus preparou de antemão para que andássemos nelas. Não somos salvos por obras, mas para obras.
10 For we are his workmanship, created through Christ Jesus unto good works, which God had before prepared, that we might walk in them.
16 and not sinners of the Gentiles, Even we (knowing that a man is not justified by the works of the law, but by the faith of Jesus Christ) have believed in Christ Jesus, that we might be justified by the faith of Christ, and not by the works of the law; because by the works of the law no flesh shall be justified.
8 And God is able to make all grace abound toward you, that having always all sufficiency in all things, ye may abound to every good work:
12 Wherefore, my beloved, as ye have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but much more now in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling.13 For it is God that worketh in you according to his good pleasure, both to will and to do.14 Do all things without murmurings and disputings:15 That ye may be blameless and simple, the sons of God, unrebukable, in the midst of a crooked and perverse nation, among whom ye shine as lights in the world,16 Holding fast the word of life, that I may glory in the day of Christ, that I have not run in vain, neither laboured in vain.
A missão do cristão
O chamado a trabalhar para Deus inclui a Grande Comissão: fazer discípulos de todas as nações, cooperando com Ele na expansão do Reino.
19 Go ye and disciple all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost.
16 He that believeth and is baptized, shall be saved; but he that believeth not, shall be damned.
9 For we are fellow-labourers of God: ye are God's husbandry, ye are God's building.
10 For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ, that every one may receive according to what he hath done in the body, whether good or evil.
