O trabalho é uma ordenança divina desde a criação. Deus colocou o homem no jardim para cultivar e guardar, revelando que o labor é parte do propósito humano e um meio de glorificá-lo.
Trabalho como vocação divina
Deus nos criou para trabalhar com propósito. O trabalho é expressão da imagem divina em nós e deve ser feito como para o Senhor.
Do whatever you do really well, as if you’re doing it for God, and not for people,

So whether you eat or drink or whatever you do, make sure to do everything to the glory of God.
So my dear brothers and sisters: be strong, stand firm, doing everything you can for the Lord’s work, since you know that nothing you do in the Lord is wasted.

Go and observe the ants, you slacker! Learn from what they do and become wise. They don’t have a leader, an officer, or a ruler, yet they work hard during the summer getting their food, gathering what they need during the harvest.
So how long are you going to lie there, you slacker? When are you going to get up from your sleep?
You may say, "Please, just a little more sleep, a little longer snooze, a little more folding of the arms to rest"— and poverty will attack you like a robber, destitution like an armed warrior.
Laziness and destruction are brothers.
If you love sleeping you’ll become poor. Wake up and get busy, and you’ll have plenty to eat.
Wealth gained by fraud quickly disappears, but those who gather bit by bit prosper.
The Lord’s blessing makes you rich, and he doesn’t add any sadness to accompany it.
Planejamento e excelência
A excelência no trabalho honra a Deus. Devemos nos dedicar com competência, entregar nossos planos ao Senhor e buscar o melhor em cada tarefa.

Make sure you work hard so you can present yourself to God and gain his approval. Be a worker that doesn’t need to be embarrassed, using the word of truth correctly.

All Scripture inspired by God is useful for teaching, for confronting what is wrong, for setting us straight, and for telling us what is right. This is how God provides a thorough preparation for those who work for him to accomplish all that’s good.
Whatever you do, do it with all your strength, for when you go to the grave there’s no more working or thinking, no more knowing or being wise.
Do everything without complaining or arguing so that you’ll be sincere, innocent of any wrong. Be God’s blameless children living in the middle of a dishonest and corrupt people. Shine among them as lights to the world,
O contentamento no trabalho
Deus nos dá a capacidade de desfrutar do nosso trabalho. Poder comer, beber e encontrar satisfação em nosso labor é um dom divino.
I concluded that there’s nothing better than being happy and looking for the good in life. In addition everyone should eat and drink and enjoy their work—this is God’s gift to us.
But I observed that what is good and right is to eat, drink, and to find enjoyment in the work God gives us here in this life. This is God’s gift to us.
In addition, everyone to whom God gives wealth and possessions he also gives the ability to enjoy these gifts, to be grateful for what they are given, and to enjoy the work they do. This is also God’s gift to us.
Two are better than one, for they can help each other in their work.
What about someone who has no family to help him, no brother or son, who works all the time, but isn’t satisfied with the money he makes. "Who am I working for?" he asks himself. "Why am I preventing myself from enjoying life?" Such a situation is hard to explain—it’s an evil business!
I observed that every skill in work comes from competition with others. Once again this is hard to understand, like trying to hold on to the elusive wind.
A responsabilidade cristã
O cristão deve trabalhar com suas próprias mãos, viver dignamente e ser exemplo de dedicação. Quem não trabalha, não coma.
Even while we were with you we gave strict instructions that anybody who didn’t want to work shouldn’t eat. But now we hear that there are some lazy busybodies among you who don’t work at all. We’re ordering such people, urging them in the Lord Jesus, to settle down and work to pay for their own food.
Try to live a quiet life, minding your own business, doing your own work, as we’ve already explained to you, so that your way of life may be respected by non-Christians and you won’t have to rely on anyone to provide what you need.
Thieves, stop your stealing, and do honest, productive work with your hands, so you’ll have something to give to those who need it.
God is able to graciously provide you with everything, so that you will always have all you need—with plenty to help others too.
So a Sabbath rest remains for God’s people. For whoever enters God’s rest also rests from what he’s doing, just as God did.
May our Lord God be pleased with us, blessing what we do, blessing what we do.
Look at the birds—they don’t sow or reap or store food in barns, for your heavenly Father feeds them. Aren’t you worth more than they are?
Who will harm you if you’re keen to do good?
I tell you the truth, anyone who trusts in me will do the same things I am doing. In fact they will do even greater things because I am going to the Father.
But I don’t consider my life as worth anything to me. I only want to finish my mission and the ministry that the Lord Jesus gave to me, to witness to the good news of the grace of God.
Be careful that you don’t lose what we’ve worked so hard for, and that you receive all that you should.
