O trabalho como serviço a Deus

Na Bíblia, o trabalho não é um castigo, mas uma vocação dada por Deus antes mesmo da queda humana. Toda função honesta — da mais simples à mais complexa — ganha dignidade quando é realizada de coração, como serviço prestado ao próprio Cristo e não apenas a empregadores humanos.

And whatsoever you2f do, do [it] heartily, as to the Lord - Kurios, and not unto men;

Knowing that of the Lord - Kurios you2f shall receive the reward of the inheritance: for you2f serve the Lord - Kurios Moshiach [Messiah].(Colossians 3:23,24)

And whatsoever you2f do in word or deed, [do] all in the name of the Lord - Kurios [he to whom a person belongs] Yeshua [God is Salvation], giving thanks to God-The Father and the Father by him.(Colossians 3:17)

With good will doing service, as to the Lord - Kurios, and not to men:

Knowing that whatsoever good thing any man does, the same shall he receive of the Lord - Kurios, whether [he be] bond or free.(Ephesians 6:7,8)

Whether therefore you2f eat, or drink, or whatsoever you2f do, do all to the glory of God-The Father.(1 Corinthians 10:31)

Therefore, my beloved brethren, be you2f stedfast, unmoveable, always abounding in the work of the Lord - Kurios, forasmuch as you2f know that your labour is not in vain in the Lord - Kurios.(1 Corinthians 15:58)

Diligência contra a negligência

O livro de Provérbios trata o trabalho diário com realismo prático: o empenho constante gera sustento, enquanto a preguiça e a procrastinação levam à escassez. A sabedoria bíblica não promete enriquecimento fácil, mas aponta a perseverança como o caminho seguro para honrar a Deus com o fruto das mãos.

Go to the ant, youi sluggard; consider her ways, and be wise:

Which having no guide, overseer, or ruler,

Provides her meat in the summer, [and] gathers her food in the harvest.

How long will youi sleep, O sluggard? when will youi arise out of youi sleep?

[Yet] a little sleep, a little slumber, a little folding of the hands to sleep:

So shall youi poverty come as one that travels, and youi lack as an armed man.(Mishlei - Proverbs 6:6-11)

Love not sleep, lest youi come to poverty; open youi eyes, [and] youi shall be satisfied with bread.(Mishlei - Proverbs 20:13)

The blessing of the LORD-Yehōvah [Messiah Pre-Incarnate], it makes rich, and he adds no sorrow with it.(Mishlei - Proverbs 10:22)

Excelência e dependência de Deus

Fazer algo bem-feito é parte do testemunho cristão na sociedade. A dedicação técnica e o planejamento cuidadoso devem caminhar juntos com a dependência da soberania de Deus, lembrando que a motivação correta evita que a competência se transforme em arrogância.

Commit youi works unto the LORD-Yehōvah [Messiah Pre-Incarnate], and youi thoughts shall be established.(Mishlei - Proverbs 16:3)

See youi a man diligent in his business? he shall stand before kings; he shall not stand before mean [men].(Mishlei - Proverbs 22:29)

Whatsoever youi hand finds to do, do [it] with youi might; for [there is] no work, nor device, nor knowledge, nor wisdom, in the grave, to which youi go.(Ecclesiastes 9:10)

Do all things without murmurings and disputings:

That you2f may be blameless and harmless, the sons of God-The Father, without rebuke (reprimand; strongly warn; restrain), in the midst of a crooked and perverse nation, among whom you2f shine as lights in the world;(Philippians 2:14,15)

Study to show yourself approved unto God-The Father, a workman that needs not to be ashamed, rightly expounding (dissecting) the word of truth.(2 Timothy 2:15)

All scripture [is] given by inspiration of God-The Father, and [is] profitable for doctrine, for reproof (rebuke; scolding), for correction, for instruction in righteousness:

That the man of God-The Father may be spiritually mature, thoroughly furnished unto all good works.(2 Timothy 3:16,17)

Limites do esforço e o descanso

O autor de Eclesiastes alerta contra o risco de transformar a profissão em obsessão, inveja ou fonte de vaidade. O trabalho tem limites: o ganho não está em acumular riqueza sem fim, mas em receber com gratidão o pão de cada dia, conviver em cooperação e reconhecer a necessidade de descanso.

I know that [there is] no good in them, but for [a man] to rejoice, and to do good in his life.

And also that every man should eat and drink, and enjoy the good of all his labour, it [is] the gift of God-Elōhīm (The Living Word) [The Many Powered].(Ecclesiastes 3:12,13)

Behold [that] which I have seen: [it is] good and comely (attractive; proper (one’s own; peculiar; particular); becoming) [for one] to eat and to drink, and to enjoy the good of all his labour that he takes under the sun all the days of his life, which God-Elōhīm (The Living Word) [The Many Powered] gives him: for it [is] his portion.(Ecclesiastes 5:18)

Every man also to whom God-Elōhīm (The Living Word) [The Many Powered] has given riches and wealth, and has given him power to eat thereof, and to take his portion, and to rejoice in his labour; this [is] the gift of God-Elōhīm (The Living Word) [The Many Powered].(Ecclesiastes 5:19)

Again, I considered all travail, and every right work, that for this a man is envied of his neighbour. This [is] also vanity and anguish of spirit.(Ecclesiastes 4:4)

There is one [alone], and [there is] not a second; yes, he has neither child nor brother: yet [is there] no end of all his labour; neither is his eye satisfied with riches; neither [says he], For whom do I labour, and bereave my soul of good? This [is] also vanity, yes, it [is] a sore travail.(Ecclesiastes 4:8)

Two [are] better than one; because they have a good reward for their labour.(Ecclesiastes 4:9)

There remains therefore a keeping of a Sabbath to the people of God-The Father.

For he that is entered into his rest, he also has ceased from his own works, as God-The Father [did] from his.(Hebrews 4:9,10)

O dever do sustento e da generosidade

No Novo Testamento, a ética do trabalho é direta: cada cristão é chamado a trabalhar com decência para prover suas necessidades, manter uma conduta respeitável perante a comunidade e ter recursos para socorrer quem enfrenta privação.

For even when we were with you, this we commanded you, that if any would not work, neither should he eat.

For we hear that there are some which walk among you disorderly, working not at all, but are busybodies.

Now them that are such we command and exhort by our Lord - Kurios [he to whom a person belongs] Yeshua [God is Salvation] Moshiach [Messiah], that with quietness they work, and eat their own bread.(2 Thessalonians 3:10-12)

And that you2f study to be quiet, and to do your own business, and to work with your own hands, as we commanded you;

That you2f may walk honestly toward them that are without, and [that] you2f may have lack of nothing.(1 Thessalonians 4:11,12)

Let him that stole steal no more: but rather let him labour, working with [his] hands the thing which is good, that he may have to give to him that needs.(Ephesians 4:28)

And God-The Father [is] able to make all grace abound toward you; that you2f, always having all sufficiency in all [things], may abound to every good work:(2 Corinthians 9:8)

And let the beauty of the Lord-Adonai (The Father) [Greatest Above All Things] —our God-Elōhīm (The Living Word) [The Many Powered] —be upon us: and establish youi the work of our hands upon us; yea, the work of our hands establish youi it.(Tehillim - Psalms 90:17)
