Transformação: a mudança na mente e no coração
O que a Bíblia ensina sobre transformação
Na Bíblia, transformação não é uma simples reforma exterior de comportamento, mas uma mudança profunda de mente e coração operada por Deus. Em vez de exigir que a pessoa se conserte por esforço próprio, as Escrituras ensinam que a verdadeira renovação acontece de dentro para fora quando a vida é entregue a Cristo.
O apóstolo Paulo utiliza a palavra grega metamorphoo em Romanos 12:2 — termo que deu origem a "metamorfose". Isso indica que a fé bíblica não propõe disfarçar velhos hábitos, mas receber uma natureza renovada, moldada diariamente pelo Espírito de Deus.
And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may prove what the will of God is, that which is good and acceptable and perfect.(Romans 12:2)
But we all, with unveiled faces, looking as in a mirror at the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from glory to glory, just as from the Lord, the Spirit.(2 Corinthians 3:18)
O ponto de partida: o arrependimento
A transformação tem início quando a pessoa reconhece sua condição e decide mudar de direção. No sentido bíblico, arrepender-se (metanoia) significa uma troca profunda de mentalidade: deixar a autossuficiência e voltar-se para o Criador com sinceridade de coração, e não apenas por formalidade religiosa.
From that time Jesus began to preach and say, "Repent, for the kingdom of heaven has come near."(Matthew 4:17)
Therefore repent and return, so that your sins may be wiped away, in order that times of refreshing may come from the presence of the Lord;(Acts 3:19)
And tear your heart and not merely your garments."
Now return to the Lord your God,
For He is gracious and compassionate,
Slow to anger, abounding in mercy
And relenting of catastrophe.(Joel 2:13)
Peter said to them, "Repent, and each of you be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins; and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.(Acts 2:38)
O processo: a graça de Deus e a decisão pessoal
A mudança não ocorre de modo automático. Ela parte da constatação de que a força humana é insuficiente por si só, dependendo inteiramente da intervenção graciosa de Deus. A partir dessa reconciliação, a pessoa é chamada a abandonar ativamente práticas e reações que pertencem ao passado.
For while we were still helpless, at the right time Christ died for the ungodly.(Romans 5:6)
Therefore, treat the parts of your earthly body as dead to sexual immorality, impurity, passion, evil desire, and greed, which amounts to idolatry.(Colossians 3:5)
Os frutos de uma vida renovada
Uma transformação autêntica se manifesta nas decisões cotidianas e no tratamento dispensado ao próximo. O Espírito de Deus produz marcas visíveis no caráter: a amargura cede lugar à paz, a impulsividade dá espaço ao autocontrole, e o egoísmo é substituído pelo amor que transborda e orienta os passos.
But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control; against such things there is no law.(Galatians 5:22,23)
but whoever drinks of the water that I will give him shall never be thirsty; but the water that I will give him will become in him a fountain of water springing up to eternal life."(John 4:14)
May the Lord direct your hearts to the love of God and to the perseverance of Christ.(2 Thessalonians 3:5)
