Tristeza

O Lord, when wilt thou look upon me? Deliver my soul from their mischief, mine only-begotten one from the lions. I will give thanks to thee even in a great congregation: in an abundant people I will praise thee.

who covers the heaven with clouds, who prepares rain for the earth, who causes grass to spring up on the mountains, [and green herb for the service of men;]

Deliver me from all my transgressions: thou hast made me a reproach to the foolish.

Turn back, and thou shalt say to Ezekias the ruler of my people, Thus saith the Lord God of thy father David, I have heard thy prayer, I have seen thy tears: behold, I will heal thee: on the third day thou shalt go up to the house of the Lord.

A alegria virá

A dor tem prazo de validade. A manhã de alegria sempre vem depois da noite de choro. Deus promete transformar o luto em dança.

Thou shalt bring me out of the snare which they have hidden for me; for thou, O Lord, art my defender.

Entregando a dor a Deus

Podemos lançar sobre o Senhor toda nossa ansiedade e tristeza, porque Ele cuida de nós com ternura e não nos abandona.

And the Lord that goes with thee shall not forsake thee nor abandon thee; fear not, neither be afraid.

O choro e o arrependimento

Há tristezas que produzem arrependimento e conduzem à vida. O choro diante de Deus é acolhido e transformado em bênção.

Now therefore, saith the Lord your God, turn to me with all your heart, and with fasting, and with weeping, and with lamentation:

The vine is dried up, and the fig-trees are become few; the pomegranate, and palm-tree, and apple, and all the trees of the field are dried up: for the sons of men have abolished joy.

So Job arose, and rent his garments, and shaved the hair of his head, and fell on the earth, and worshipped, and said, I myself came forth naked from my mother’s womb, and naked shall I return thither: the Lord gave, the Lord has taken away: as it seemed good to the Lord, so has it come to pass; blessed be the name of the Lord.

A wise son makes his father glad: but a foolish son is a grief to his mother.

For in the abundance of wisdom is abundance of knowledge; and he that increases knowledge will increase sorrow.

Therefore remove sorrow from thy heart, and put away evil from thy flesh: for youth and folly are vanity.
