Uma só carne
O conceito de 'uma só carne' é o fundamento bíblico do casamento. Desde a criação, Deus uniu homem e mulher em uma aliança indissolúvel de amor, compromisso e intimidade.
A instituição divina do casamento
Deus criou o homem e a mulher e os uniu em aliança. O casamento é obra de Deus, e o que Ele juntou não separe o ser humano.
So the Lord God put Adam into a deep sleep and as he slept the Lord God removed one of Adam's ribs and closed up the place where he took it with body tissue. The Lord God made a woman, using the rib he'd taken from Adam, and presented her to Adam.
"Finally!" said Adam. "Here is bone from my bone and flesh from my flesh. She shall be called woman, because she was taken out of man."
This is the reason a man leaves his father and mother and is joined to his wife, and the two become one being.
Then the Lord God said, "It's not good for Adam to be alone. I will make someone to help him, someone that's like him."
So God created human beings in his own image. He created them in the image of God. He created them male and female.
Jesus replied, "Haven't you read that God who created people in the beginning made them male and female? He said, ‘This is the reason a man will leave his father and mother, and join with his wife, and the two shall become one.’ Now they're no longer two, but one. What God has joined together no one should separate."
However, in the beginning, from creation, God made male and female. That's why a man leaves his father and mother and is joined in marriage to his wife, and the two become one body. They are no longer two but one. Let no one separate what God has joined together."
O mistério da união
Paulo ensina que a união conjugal é um grande mistério que aponta para Cristo e a Igreja. A intimidade reflete a comunhão espiritual plena.
Husbands should love their wives just like this, as they love their own bodies. A man who loves his wife loves himself— for no one ever hated his own body, but feeds it and looks after it, just as Christ does for the church, for we are parts of his body. "This is why a man leaves his father and mother, and is joined to his wife, and the two are united in one." This is a deep hidden truth—but I'm talking about Christ and the church. However, each husband should love his own wife as he does himself, and the wife should respect her husband.
Don't you know your bodies are parts of Christ's body? Should I take the parts of Christ's body and join them to a prostitute? Absolutely not! Don't you realize that anyone who has sex with a prostitute becomes "one body" with her? Remember that Scripture says, "The two will become one body." But whoever is joined to the Lord is one with him in spirit!
Did he not make you one, and give some of his Spirit to you? And what does he want? Children of God. So watch what you do, and don't be unfaithful to the wife you married when you were young.
Fidelidade e alegria
A aliança conjugal exige fidelidade, respeito e dedicação mútua. A Bíblia celebra a alegria da intimidade dentro do casamento.
May your spring of water be blessed, and may you enjoy the wife you married when you were young. May she be to you a loving deer, a graceful doe. May her breasts always be intoxicating to you; may you be drunk on her love forever. Why, my son, become intoxicated with an immoral woman? Why embrace the breasts of a woman who acts like a prostitute?
Above all, love one another, which is the perfect bond that will hold you together. May the peace of Christ direct your thinking, because you were called to this by God who makes you one, and thank God for it!
So reject lies, and tell the truth to each other—for we belong to each other.
