4 He replied, "Have you not read that the Creator in the beginning 'made them male and female,'5 and said, 'For this cause shall a man leave his father and his mother and shall cleave to his wife and the two shall become one flesh'?6 So they are no longer two, but one flesh. What, therefore, God has yoked together let not man put asunder."

28 Thus ought men to love their own wives as their own bodies. He who loves his own wife loves himself,29 for no one ever hates his own flesh, but nourishes and cherishes it, just as Christ does the church,30 for we are members of his body.31 "Therefore shall a man leave his father and his mother and shall cleave to his wife and the two shall become one flesh.32 "This mystery is great, but I am speaking of Christ and the church.33 But each one of you must love his own wife as himself, and the wife must reverence her husband.

15 Do you not know that your bodies are members of Christ? Shall I then take the members of Christ and make them members of a prostitute? Never!16 Do you not know that he who unites himself to a prostitute is one body with her? For God says, "The two shall become one flesh."17 He who is united to the Lord is one spirit.

14 Above all these, clothe yourselves with love, which is the perfect bond of union.15 Let the peace of Christ be umpire in your hearts. For this you were called into one body. And be thankful.

25 Therefore put aside lying and speak truth every one to his neighbor, for we are members one of another.
