Quanto uma pessoa vale para Deus
Para a Bíblia, o valor de uma pessoa não depende do que ela produz, ganha ou aparenta, mas do amor do Criador que a formou. Jesus recorria a exemplos simples da rotina — aves comuns vendidas por moedas de pouco valor e flores do campo — para demonstrar que a vida humana tem um peso incomparavelmente maior diante do Pai.
Are not two sparrows sold for an assarion? And one of them will not fall on the ground without your Father; and of you—even the hairs of the head are all numbered; therefore, do not be afraid, you are better than many sparrows.(Matthew 10:29-31)
Are not five sparrows sold for two assaria? And one of them is not forgotten before God, but even the hairs of your head have all been numbered; therefore do not fear, you are of more value than many sparrows.(Luke 12:6,7)

Precioso e escolhido pelo Criador
Na relação com o povo de Israel, Deus descreveu os seus como um tesouro particular. O valor de alguém não nasce de merecimento próprio, mas da aliança e da honra que Deus mesmo decide conceder.
Since you were precious in My eyes, || You were honored, and I have loved you, || And I appoint men in your stead, || And peoples instead of your life.(Isaiah 43:4)
And now, if you really listen to My voice, then you have kept My covenant, and have been a special treasure to Me more than all the peoples, for all the earth [is] Mine;(Exodus 19:5)
Arise, shine, for your light has come, || And the glory of YHWH has risen on you.(Isaiah 60:1)
O que a Bíblia considera de verdadeiro valor
O mundo costuma medir o valor de algo pelo preço de mercado ou pelo status exterior. As Escrituras invertem essa lógica: o que permanece e tem valor eterno é o caráter moldado pela fidelidade, as palavras de integridade e a fé que se expressa concretamente em amor ao próximo.
Do not let kindness and truth forsake you, || Bind them on your neck, || Write them on the tablet of your heart, And find grace and good understanding || In the eyes of God and man.(Proverbs 3:3,4)
The tongue of the righteous [is] chosen silver, || The heart of the wicked—as a little thing.(Proverbs 10:20)
