6 Jesus told him, "I am*the way,*the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.

14 The Word  * became flesh  * and dwelt  * among us. We observed his glory,  * the glory as the one and only  * Son  * from the Father, full of grace and truth.

4 For the word of the  Lord is right,

and all his work is trustworthy.  *

5 Every word of God is pure;  *,*

he is a shield to those who take refuge in him.  *

20 And we know that the Son of God has come  * and has given us understanding so that we may know the true one.  * We are in the true one — that is, in his Son, Jesus Christ.  * He is the true God and eternal life.

7 Nevertheless, I am telling you the truth.*It is for your benefit that I go away, because if I don’t go away the Counselor will not come to you. If I go, I will send him to you.*

The Counselor’s Ministry

26 "When the Counselor*comes, the one I will send to you from the Father*— the Spirit of truth*who proceeds from the Father — he will testify about me.

27 As for you, the anointing you received from him remains in you, and you don’t need anyone to teach you. Instead, his anointing teaches you about all things  * and is true and is not a lie; just as it has taught you,  * remain in him.  *

24 God is spirit,*and those who worship him must worship in Spirit and in truth."*

31 Then Jesus said to the Jews who had believed him, "If you continue in my word,*,*you really are my disciples.32 You will know the truth,*and the truth will set you free."

30 I have chosen the way of truth;

I have set your ordinances before me.  *

5 Guide me in your truth and teach me,  *

for you are the God of my salvation;  *

I wait for you all day long.  *

15 Be diligent to present yourself to God as one approved, a worker who doesn’t need to be ashamed, correctly teaching the word of truth.  *

18 By his own choice, he gave us birth by the word of truth so that we would be a kind of firstfruits of his creatures.  *

15 But speaking the truth in love, let us grow in every way into him who is the head  *  — Christ.

8 Finally  * brothers and sisters, whatever is true,  * whatever is honorable,  * whatever is just,  * whatever is pure,  * whatever is lovely, whatever is commendable — if there is any moral excellence  * and if there is anything praiseworthy — dwell on these things.

2 The one who lives blamelessly, practices righteousness,

and acknowledges the truth in his heart  *  —

3 who does not slander with his tongue,  *

who does not harm his friend

or discredit his neighbor,  *

13 Keep your tongue from evil

and your lips from deceitful speech.  *

32 The lips of the righteous know what is appropriate,  *

but the mouth of the wicked, only what is perverse.  *

24 Don’t let your mouth speak dishonestly,  *

and don’t let your lips talk deviously.

Truthful Speech

12 Above all, my brothers and sisters, do not swear, either by heaven or by earth or with any other oath.  * But let your "yes" mean "yes," and your "no" mean "no," so that you won’t fall under judgment.  *

18 Little children, let us not love in word or speech, but in action and in truth.  *

6 If we say, "We have fellowship  * with him," and yet we walk in darkness,  * we are lying and are not practicing the truth.  *

4 I have no greater joy  * than this: to hear that my children  * are walking in truth.
