Verdade
A verdade é um dos atributos centrais de Deus e um pilar da vida cristã. Jesus se declarou o caminho, a verdade e a vida. Viver na verdade é viver em liberdade e integridade.
Deus é a fonte da verdade
O Senhor é fiel e verdadeiro em todas as suas palavras. Sua Palavra é a verdade absoluta que ilumina nosso caminho e nos sustenta.
Jesus says to him: "I am the Way and the Truth and the Life. No one goes to the Father except through me.
So the Word became flesh and lived among us, and we observed His glory, glory of an Only-begotten, from the Father, full of grace and truth.
O Espírito da verdade
Jesus prometeu enviar o Espírito Santo, o Espírito da verdade, que nos guia, ensina e nos faz lembrar de tudo o que Cristo disse.
Nevertheless I am telling you the truth: it is to your advantage that I go away, because if I do not go away the Enabler will not come to you, but if I do go I will send Him to you.
"Now when the Enabler comes, whom I will send to you from the Father, the Spirit of the Truth who proceeds from the Father, He will testify concerning me.
God is Spirit, and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and truth."
A verdade liberta
Jesus prometeu que conhecer a verdade nos torna livres. A mentira aprisiona, mas a verdade de Deus nos conduz à plenitude.
So Jesus said to those Jews who had believed Him: "If you abide in my word, you really are my disciples; abide in His Word? And how can you abide in something that doesn’t exist (for you)? There are still thousands of languages spoken in the world that do not have even one verse of the Bible translated into them. How can speakers of such languages be true disciples of Jesus? I have actually heard some who claim they have been ‘baptized in the Spirit’ say they don’t need the Bible, because the Holy Spirit speaks to them directly. Now why would the Holy Spirit speak to someone who disagrees with the Lord Jesus? In this connection, notice especially John 16:14-15. and you will know the Truth, and the Truth will make you free."
Vivendo e falando a verdade
Somos chamados a falar a verdade em amor e a rejeitar toda forma de engano. A integridade nas palavras é marca do cristão.
rather, speaking the truth in love, let us in all things grow up into Him who is the Head, the Christ;
Finally, brothers, whatever things are true, whatever things are honorable, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are commendable—whatever is of excellent character and whatever is praiseworthy—ponder such things.
