Verdade

A verdade é um dos atributos centrais de Deus e um pilar da vida cristã. Jesus se declarou o caminho, a verdade e a vida. Viver na verdade é viver em liberdade e integridade.

Deus é a fonte da verdade

O Senhor é fiel e verdadeiro em todas as suas palavras. Sua Palavra é a verdade absoluta que ilumina nosso caminho e nos sustenta.

6 Jesus said to him, "I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.

João 14:6

14 And the Word became flesh and took up residence among us, and we saw his glory, glory as of the one and only from the Father, full of grace and truth.

4 For the word of Yahweh is upright,

O Espírito da verdade

Jesus prometeu enviar o Espírito Santo, o Espírito da verdade, que nos guia, ensina e nos faz lembrar de tudo o que Cristo disse.

7 But I tell you the truth, it is better for you that I go away. For if I do not go away, the Advocate will not come to you; but if I go, I will send him to you.

João 16:7

26 "When the Advocate comes, whom I will send to you from the Father—the Spirit of truth, who proceeds from the Father—that one will testify about me.

Jesus prometeu que conhecer a verdade nos torna livres. A mentira aprisiona, mas a verdade de Deus nos conduz à plenitude.

The Truth Will Set You Free

31 Then Jesus said to those Jews who had believed him, "If you continue in my word you are truly my disciples, 32 and you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free."

Vivendo e falando a verdade

Somos chamados a falar a verdade em amor e a rejeitar toda forma de engano. A integridade nas palavras é marca do cristão.

15 But speaking the truth in love, we are to grow into him with reference to all things, who is the head, Christ,

Efésios 4:15

8 Finally, brothers, whatever things are true, whatever things are honorable, whatever things are right, whatever things are pure, whatever things are pleasing, whatever things are commendable, if there is any excellence of character and if anything praiseworthy, think about these things.
