A escravidão do pecado

34 Jesus answered them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Whosoever commits sin is the servant of sin.

36 If the Son therefore shall set you free, ye shall be free indeed.

36 If the Son therefore shall set you free, ye shall be free indeed.

31 Then Jesus said to those Jews who had believed him, If ye abide in my word, ye shall be my disciples indeed;32 and ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall set you free.

1 Stand fast therefore in the liberty with which Christ has made us free and do not be entangled again with the yoke of bondage.

16 Or know ye not that to whom ye present yourselves servants to obey, his servants ye are to whom ye obey, whether of sin unto death or of the obedience unto righteousness?

Resistência e domínio próprio

O fruto do Espírito inclui o domínio próprio.

21 envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like; which I denounce, as I have also told [you] in time past that those who do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God.23 meekness, temperance: against such there is no law.

12 All things are lawful unto me, but all things are not expedient; all things are lawful for me, but I will not be brought under the power of any.

12 All things are lawful unto me, but all things are not expedient; all things are lawful for me, but I will not be brought under the power of any.

27 but I keep my body under, and bring [it] into subjection, lest preaching to others, I myself should become reprobate.:

13 No temptation has taken you but such as is common to man, but God [is] faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above what ye are able but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear [it].

13 No temptation has taken you but such as is common to man, but God [is] faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above what ye are able but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear [it].

41 Watch and pray, that ye enter not into temptation; the spirit indeed [is] willing, but the flesh [is] weak.

7 Submit yourselves, therefore, to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.

3 knowing that the proving of your faith works patience,

1 Therefore, I beseech you brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies in living sacrifice, holy, well pleasing unto God, [which is] your rational worship.2 And be not conformed to this age, but be ye transformed by the renewing of your soul that ye may experience what [is] that good and well pleasing and perfect will of God.

11 Likewise also reckon yourselves to be truly dead unto sin, but alive unto God in Christ, Jesus, our Lord.12 Therefore do not let sin reign in your mortal body that ye should obey it in the lusts thereof.13 Neither present your members [as] instruments of unrighteousness unto sin, but present yourselves unto God as those that are alive from the dead and your members [as] instruments of righteousness unto God.

5 For if we have been planted together [in him] in the likeness of his death, we shall be also [in the likeness] of [his] resurrection,6 knowing this: that our old man is crucified with [him] that the body of sin might be destroyed that we should not serve sin any longer.

11 For the grace of God that brings salvation has appeared to all men,12 teaching us that denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live temperately, righteously, and godly in this present world;

2 so that now the time that remains in the flesh, he might live, not unto the lusts of men, but unto the will of God.3 For it should suffice us that during the time past of [our] life we had done the will of the Gentiles, when we conversed in lasciviousness, lusts, drunkenness, gluttony, orgies, and abominable idolatries.4 And it seems strange to those that speak evil of you, that ye do not run with [them] to the same unchecked dissolution;5 the same shall give account to him that is ready to judge the living and the dead.6 Because for this cause was the gospel preached also to those that are dead, that they might be judged in flesh according to men, but live in spirit according to God.7 But the end of all things is at hand; be ye, therefore, temperate and watch unto prayer.

8 If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and there is no truth in us.9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us [our] sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

13 He that covers his sins shall not prosper, but whosoever confesses and forsakes [them] shall attain mercy.

O corpo como templo

Nosso corpo é templo do Espírito Santo.

19 What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit [who is] in you, whom ye have of God, and that ye are not your own?

9 Know ye not that the unjust shall not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not err: neither fornicators nor idolaters nor adulterers nor effeminate nor homosexuals10 nor thieves nor covetous nor drunkards nor revilers nor extortioners shall inherit the kingdom of God.11 And such were some of you, but [now] ye are washed, but [now] ye are sanctified, but [now] ye are justified in the name of the Lord Jesus and in the Spirit of our God.

18 And be not drunk with wine, in which there is excess, but be filled with the Spirit,

1 Wine [makes] a mocker, and beer a reveler, and whoever errs concerning them shall never be wise.

23 Drink no longer water, but use a little wine for thy stomach's sake and thine often infirmities.

16 For all that [is] in the world, the lust of the flesh and the lust of the eyes and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world.

8 Be temperate and vigilant because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walks about, seeking whom he may devour,

13 Ye are the salt of the earth, but if the salt has lost its savour, with what shall it be salted? From then on it is good for nothing, but to be cast out and to be trodden under foot of men.

13 And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil, for thine is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever. Amen.

11 For it is written, As I live, saith the Lord, every knee shall bow to me, and every tongue shall confess to God.12 So then each one of us shall give account of himself to God.
