A escravidão do pecado

Jesus replied to them, "Truly, truly I say to you, that everyone who commits sin is a slave of sin.

So if the son sets you free, you will be truly free.

So if the son sets you free, you will be truly free.

The Truth Will Set You Free

Then Jesus said to those Jews who had believed him, "If you continue in my word you are truly my disciples, and you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free."

Live in Freedom and Love One Another

For freedom Christ has set us free. Stand firm, therefore, and do not be subject again to a yoke of slavery.

Do you not know that to whomever you present yourselves as slaves for obedience, you are slaves to whomever you obey, whether sin, leading to death, or obedience, leading to righteousness?

Resistência e domínio próprio

O fruto do Espírito inclui o domínio próprio.

envy, drunkenness, carousing, and things like these, things which I am telling you in advance, just as I said before, that the ones who practice such things will not inherit the kingdom of God. gentleness, self control. Against such things there is no law.

Avoid Sexual Immorality

All things are permitted for me, but not all things are profitable. All things are permitted for me, but I will not be controlled by anything.

Avoid Sexual Immorality

All things are permitted for me, but not all things are profitable. All things are permitted for me, but I will not be controlled by anything.

But I discipline my body and subjugate it, lest somehow after preaching to others, I myself should become disqualified.

Temptation has not come upon you except what is common to humanity. But God is faithful, who will not permit you to be tempted beyond what you are able, but will also make a way out together with the temptation, so that you may be able to endure it.

Temptation has not come upon you except what is common to humanity. But God is faithful, who will not permit you to be tempted beyond what you are able, but will also make a way out together with the temptation, so that you may be able to endure it.

Stay awake and pray that you will not enter into temptation. The spirit is willing, but the flesh is weak!"

Therefore subject yourselves to God. But resist the devil, and he will flee from you.

because you know that the testing of your faith produces endurance.

A Life Dedicated to God

Therefore I exhort you, brothers, through the mercies of God, to present your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God, which is your reasonable service. And do not be conformed to this age, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, so that you may approve what is the good and well-pleasing and perfect will of God.

So also you, consider yourselves to be dead to sin, but alive to God in Christ Jesus.

Therefore do not let sin reign in your mortal body, so that you obey its desires, and do not present your members to sin as instruments of unrighteousness, but present yourselves to God as those who are alive from the dead, and your members to God as instruments of righteousness.

For if we have become identified with him in the likeness of his death, certainly also we will be identified with him in the likeness of his resurrection, knowing this, that our old man was crucified together with him, in order that the body of sin may be done away with, that we may no longer be enslaved to sin.

For the grace of God has appeared, bringing salvation to all people, training us in order that, denying impiety and worldly desires, we may live self-controlled and righteously and godly in the present age,

in order to live the remaining time in the flesh no longer for human desires, but for the will of God. For the time that has passed was sufficient to do what the Gentiles desire to do, having lived in licentiousness, evil desires, drunkenness, carousing, drinking parties, and wanton idolatries, with respect to which they are surprised when you do not run with them into the same flood of dissipation, and so they revile you. They will give an account to the one who is ready to judge the living and the dead. Because for this reason also the gospel was preached to those who are dead, so that they were judged by human standards in the flesh, but they may live in the spirit by God’s standards.

Serving to the Glory of God

Now the end of all things draws near. Therefore be self-controlled and sober-minded for your prayers.

If we say that we do not have sin, we deceive ourselves and the truth is not in us. If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just, so that he will forgive us our sins and will cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

He who conceals his transgression will not prosper,

but he who confesses and forsakes will obtain mercy.

O corpo como templo

Nosso corpo é templo do Espírito Santo.

Or do you not know that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God, and you are not your own?

Or do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived! Neither sexually immoral people, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor passive homosexual partners, nor dominant homosexual partners, nor thieves, nor greedy persons, not drunkards, not abusive persons, not swindlers will inherit the kingdom of God. And some of you were these things, but you were washed, but you were sanctified, but you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus and by the Spirit of our God.

And do not be drunk with wine (in which is dissipation), but be filled by the Spirit,

Wine is a mocker, strong drink a brawler,

and any who go astray by it are not wise.

(No longer drink only water, but use a little wine for your stomach and your frequent illnesses.)

because everything that is in the worldthe desire of the flesh and the desire of the eyes and the arrogance of material possessionsis not from the Father, but is from the world.

Be sober; be on the alert. Your adversary the devil walks around like a roaring lion, looking for someone to devour.

The Sermon on the Mount: Salt and Light

"You are the salt of the earth. But if salt becomes tasteless, by what will it be made salty? It is good for nothing any longer except to be thrown outside and trampled under foot by people.

And do not bring us into temptation,

but deliver us from the evil one.

For it is written,

"As I live, says the Lord, every knee will bow to me,

and every tongue will praise God."

So each one of us will give an account concerning himself.
