A escravidão do pecado

Jesus answered them, "Truly, truly, I say to you, everyone who is committing sin, is a servant of sin,

if then the Son may make you free, in reality you will be free.

if then the Son may make you free, in reality you will be free.

Jesus, therefore, said to the Jews who believed in Him, "If you may remain in My word, you are truly My disciples, and you will know the truth, and the truth will make you free."

In the freedom, then, with which Christ made you freestand, and do not be held fast again by a yoke of servitude.

Have you not known that to whom you present yourselves servants for obedience, servants you are to him to whom you obey, whether of sin to death, or of obedience to righteousness?

Resistência e domínio próprio

O fruto do Espírito inclui o domínio próprio.

envyings, murders, drunkenness, reveling, and such like, of which I tell you before, as I also said before, that those doing such things will not inherit the Kingdom of God. meekness, [and] self-control. Against such there is no law;

All things are lawful to me, but all things are not profitable; all things are lawful to me, but I will not be under authority by any;

All things are lawful to me, but all things are not profitable; all things are lawful to me, but I will not be under authority by any;

but I bruise my body, and bring [it] into servitude, lest by any means, having preached to othersI myself may become disapproved.

No temptation has taken youexcept that of man; and God is faithful, who will not permit you to be tempted above what you are able, but He will make, with the temptation, also the outlet, for your being able to bear [it].

No temptation has taken youexcept that of man; and God is faithful, who will not permit you to be tempted above what you are able, but He will make, with the temptation, also the outlet, for your being able to bear [it].

Watch, and pray, that you may not enter into temptation: the spirit indeed is forward, but the flesh weak."

Be subject, then, to God; stand up against the Devil, and he will flee from you;

knowing that the proof of your faith works endurance,

I call on you, therefore, brothers, through the compassions of God, to present your bodies [as] a sacrificeliving, sanctified, acceptable to Godyour intelligent service; and do not be conformed to this age, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, for your proving what [is] the will of Godthe good, and acceptable, and perfect.

so also you, reckon yourselves to be dead indeed to sin, and living to God in Jesus Christ our Lord. Do not let then sin reign in your mortal body, to obey it in its desires; neither present your members instruments of unrighteousness to sin, but present yourselves to God as living out of the dead, and your members instruments of righteousness to God;

For if we have become planted together to the likeness of His death, [so] we also will be of the resurrection; knowing this, that our old man was crucified with [Him], that the body of sin may be made useless, for our no longer serving sin,

For the saving grace of God has appeared to all men, teaching us, that denying the impiety and the worldly desires, we may live soberly, and righteously, and piously in the present age,

no longer in the desires of men, but in the will of God, to live the rest of the time in the flesh; for the time has sufficiently passed to have carried out the will of the nations, having walked in licentiousness, lusts, excesses of wines, revelings, drinking-bouts, and unlawful idolatries, in which they think it strangeyour not running with them to the same excess of wastefulness, slandering [you]who will give an account to Him who is ready to judge [the] living and [the] dead, for this also was good news proclaimed to dead men, that they may be judged, indeed, according to men in the flesh, but may live according to God in the Spirit. Now the end of all things has come near; be sober-minded, then, and be sober in [your] prayers.

if we may say, "We have no sin," we lead ourselves astray, and the truth is not in us; if we may confess our sins, He is steadfast and righteous that He may forgive us the sins, and may cleanse us from every unrighteousness;

Whoever is covering his transgressions does not prosper, || And he who is confessing and forsaking has mercy.

O corpo como templo

Nosso corpo é templo do Espírito Santo.

Have you not known that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit in you, which you have from God? And you are not your own,

Have you not known that the unrighteous will not inherit the Kingdom of God? Do not be led astray; neither whoremongers, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor sodomites, nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners, will inherit the Kingdom of God. And certain of you were these! But you were washed, but you were sanctified, but you were declared righteous, in the Name of the Lord Jesus, and in the Spirit of our God.

and do not be drunk with wine, in which is wastefulness, but be filled in the Spirit,

Wine [is] a scornerstrong drink [is] noisy, || And any going astray in it is not wise.

no longer be drinking water, but be using a little wine, because of your stomach and of your frequent sicknesses;

because all that [is] in the worldthe desire of the flesh, and the desire of the eyes, and the ostentation of [one’s] lifeis not of the Father, but of the world,

Be sober, vigilant, because your opponent the Devil walks around as a roaring lion, seeking whom he may swallow up,

You are the salt of the earth, but if the salt may lose savor, in what will it be salted? It is good for nothing from now on, except to be cast outside, and to be trodden down by men.

And may You not lead us into temptation, but deliver us from the evil [one], because Yours is the kingdom, and the power, and the gloryfor all ages. Amen.

for it has been written: "I live! Says the LORDEvery knee will bow to Me, and every tongue will confess to God"; so, then, each of us will give reckoning to God concerning himself;
