A escravidão do pecado
34 Jesus answered them, Verily, verily I say unto you, he that practiseth sin, is the slave of sin:
36 If therefore the Son shall make you free, ye will be free indeed. I know that ye are Abraham's offspring:
36 If therefore the Son shall make you free, ye will be free indeed. I know that ye are Abraham's offspring:
31 Then said Jesus to the Jews who believed on him, If ye continue in my word, ye are my disciples indeed:32 And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.
1 Stand fast therefore in the liberty wherewith Christ hath made you free, and be not intangled again with the yoke of bondage.
16 Know ye not, that to whom ye present yourselves servants to obey, his servants ye are whom ye obey? Whether of sin unto death, or of obedience unto righteousness?
Resistência e domínio próprio
O fruto do Espírito inclui o domínio próprio.
21 emulations, wraths, strifes, divisions, heresies, Envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like: of which I tell you before (as I have also told you in time past) that they who practise such things, shall not inherit the kingdom of God.23 Meekness, temperance; against such there is no law.
12 All things are lawful for me; but all things are not expedient: all things are lawful for me; but I will not be brought under the power of any.
12 All things are lawful for me; but all things are not expedient: all things are lawful for me; but I will not be brought under the power of any.
27 But I keep under my body, and bring it into subjection, lest by any means, after having preached to others, I myself should become a reprobate.
13 There hath no temptation taken you, but such as is common to man; and God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above your ability, but will with the temptation make also a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it.
13 There hath no temptation taken you, but such as is common to man; and God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above your ability, but will with the temptation make also a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it.
41 Watch and pray, that ye enter not into temptation: the spirit indeed is willing; but the flesh is weak.
7 Submit yourselves, therefore, to God: resist the devil, and he will flee from you.
3 But let patience have it's perfect work,
1 I exhort you therefore, brethren, by the tender mercies of God, to present your bodies unto God, a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable, which is your reasonable service.2 And be not conformed to this world, but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect will of God.
11 So reckon ye also yourselves to be dead to sin, and alive to God through Jesus Christ our Lord.12 Therefore let not sin reign in your mortal body, to obey it in the desires thereof.13 Neither present your members to sin, as instruments of unrighteousness; but present yourselves to God, as alive from the dead, and your members to God, as instruments of righteousness.
5 For if we have been planted together in the likeness of his death, we shall be also in the likeness of his resurrection:6 Knowing this, that our old man is crucified with him, that the body of sin might be destroyed, that we might no longer serve sin.
11 For the saving grace of God hath appeared to all men,12 Teaching us, that, having renounced ungodliness and all wordly desires, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly in the present world,
2 (for he that hath suffered in the flesh hath ceased from sin) That ye may no longer live the rest of your time in the flesh, to the desire of men, but to the will of God.3 For the time past of your life sufficeth to have wrought the will of the Gentiles, when ye walked in lasciviousness, evil desires, excess of wine, revellings, banquetings, and abominable idolatries.4 Wherein they think it strange, that ye run not with them to the same excess of riot,5 speaking evil of you, Who shall give account to him that is ready judge the living and the dead.6 For to this end was the gospel preached to them that are dead also, that they might be judged according to men in the flesh, but live according to God in the Spirit.7 But the end of all things is at hand; be ye therefore sober, and watch unto prayer.
8 If we say, we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us.9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful, and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
O corpo como templo
Nosso corpo é templo do Espírito Santo.
19 Know ye not, that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost, which is in you, which ye have from God?
9 Know ye not, that the unjust shall not inherit the kingdom of God? Be not deceived. Neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor the effeminate,10 nor sodomites, Nor thieves, nor the covetous, nor revilers, nor the rapacious shall inherit the kingdom of God.11 And such were some of you: but ye are washed, but ye are sanctified, but ye are justified in the name of the Lord Jesus, and by the Spirit of our God.
18 And be not drunken with wine,
23 Drink water no longer, but use a little wine for thy stomach's sake and thy frequent infirmities.
16 For all that is in the world, the desire of the flesh, and the desire of the eye, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world.
8 for your adversary the devil, walketh about as a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour:
13 Ye are the salt of the earth: but if the salt have lost its savour, wherewith shall it be salted? It is thenceforth good for nothing, but to be cast out and to be trodden under foot of men.
13 And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever and ever. Amen.
11 For it is written, As I live, saith the Lord, every knee shall bow to me, and every tongue shall confess to God.12 So then every one of us shall give an account of himself to God.
