Vida nova
Em Cristo, toda pessoa é transformada em uma nova criação. O velho passa e tudo se faz novo. A vida nova é o resultado da obra redentora de Jesus em nosso coração.
Morte e ressurreição com Cristo
O batismo simboliza nossa morte para o pecado e ressurreição para uma nova vida. Fomos sepultados com Cristo e ressuscitamos com Ele.
3 Or are you without the knowledge that all we who had baptism into Christ Jesus, had baptism into his death?4 We have been placed with him among the dead through baptism into death: so that as Christ came again from the dead by the glory of the Father, we, in the same way, might be living in new life.
5 For, if we have been made like him in his death, we will, in the same way, be like him in his coming to life again;6 Being conscious that our old man was put to death on the cross with him, so that the body of sin might be put away, and we might no longer be servants to sin.7 Because he who is dead is free from sin.
11 Even so see yourselves as dead to sin, but living to God in Christ Jesus.
Nova criação
Quando aceitamos Jesus, nascemos de novo. A velha natureza dá lugar a uma identidade renovada pelo Espírito Santo.
17 So if any man is in Christ, he is in a new world: the old things have come to an end; they have truly become new.
20 I have been put to death on the cross with Christ; still I am living; no longer I, but Christ is living in me; and that life which I now am living in the flesh I am living by faith, the faith of the Son of God, who in love for me, gave himself up for me.
11 Where there is no Greek or Jew, no one with circumcision or without circumcision, no division between nations, no servant or free man: but Christ is all and in all.
Despir o velho, vestir o novo
A vida nova se manifesta em abandonar os velhos hábitos e revestir-se do novo homem, criado segundo a vontade de Deus.
22 That you are to put away, in relation to your earlier way of life, the old man, which has become evil by love of deceit;23 And be made new in the spirit of your mind,24 And put on the new man, to which God has given life, in righteousness and a true and holy way of living.
8 But now it is right for you to put away all these things; wrath, passion, bad feeling, curses, unclean talk;9 Do not make false statements to one another; because you have put away the old man with all his doings,10 And have put on the new man, which has become new in knowledge after the image of his maker;
9 If we say openly that we have done wrong, he is upright and true to his word, giving us forgiveness of sins and making us clean from all evil.
Renovação interior
Deus promete dar um coração novo e um espírito novo. A transformação nasce do arrependimento e da purificação divina.
10 \51:8\Make me full of joy and rapture; so that the bones which have been broken may be glad.11 \51:9\Let your face be turned from my wrongdoing, and take away all my sins.12 \51:10\Make a clean heart in me, O God; give me a right spirit again.
25 And I will put clean water on you so that you may be clean: from all your unclean ways and from all your images I will make you clean.26 And I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit in you: I will take away the heart of stone from your flesh, and give you a heart of flesh.27 And I will put my spirit in you, causing you to be guided by my rules, and you will keep my orders and do them.
3 Among whom we all at one time were living in the pleasures of our flesh, giving way to the desires of the flesh and of the mind, and the punishment of God was waiting for us even as for the rest.4 But God, being full of mercy, through the great love which he had for us,5 Even when we were dead through our sins, gave us life together with Christ (by grace you have salvation),
