Vida nova
Em Cristo, toda pessoa é transformada em uma nova criação. O velho passa e tudo se faz novo. A vida nova é o resultado da obra redentora de Jesus em nosso coração.
Morte e ressurreição com Cristo
O batismo simboliza nossa morte para o pecado e ressurreição para uma nova vida. Fomos sepultados com Cristo e ressuscitamos com Ele.
Don’t you know that all of us who were baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into his death? Through baptism we were buried with him in death so that just as Christ was raised from the dead through the glory of the Father we too can live a new life.
If we’ve become one with him in dying like he did, then we’ll be raised like him too.
We know that our old self was crucified with him to dispose of the dead body of sin so that we wouldn’t be enslaved by sin any longer. Anyone who has died has been set free from sin.
In just the same way you should consider yourselves dead to sin, but alive to God through Christ Jesus.
Nova criação
Quando aceitamos Jesus, nascemos de novo. A velha natureza dá lugar a uma identidade renovada pelo Espírito Santo.
That’s why anyone who is in Christ is a new being—what was old is gone, the new has come!
I’ve been crucified with Christ— so it’s no longer I who lives, but it is Christ living in me. The life I now live in this body, I live by trusting in the Son of God, who loved me, and who gave himself for me.
In this new situation there’s no Greek or Jew, circumcised or uncircumcised, foreigner, barbarian, slave or free, for Christ is everything, and he lives in all of us.
Despir o velho, vestir o novo
A vida nova se manifesta em abandonar os velhos hábitos e revestir-se do novo homem, criado segundo a vontade de Deus.
So get rid of your former lifestyle, that old nature that ruins you through deceptive desires! Let yourselves be remade spiritually and mentally, and put on your new nature that God created so you will be like him, right and holy in the truth.
but now you should get rid of such things as anger, rage, wickedness, abuse, and using obscenities. Don’t lie to each other, since you’ve discarded your old self and what you used to do, and put on your new self that is always being made more like your Creator, understanding better who he really is.
But if we confess our sins, he is trustworthy and right so that he can forgive us our sins and make us clean from all that is not right in us.
Renovação interior
Deus promete dar um coração novo e um espírito novo. A transformação nasce do arrependimento e da purificação divina.
Create a pure mind in me, God, and make me trustworthy again.
Don’t expel me from your presence; don’t take away your Holy Spirit from me.
Give me back the happiness of your salvation; help me to have a willing nature.
I will also pour pure water over you, and you will be clean. I will wash you clean from all your uncleanness and from all your idols. I will give you a new mind and I will put a new spirit inside you. I will take away your stubborn mind and I will give you a loving mind. I will put my Spirit inside you so you will follow my laws and remember to do what I tell you.
All of us were once like that, our behavior determined by the desires of our sinful human nature and our evil way of thinking. Like everyone else, in our nature we were children of anger.
But God in his generous mercy, because of the amazing love he had for us even while we were dead in our sins, has made us alive together with Christ. Trusting in him has saved you!
