Vida nova
Em Cristo, toda pessoa é transformada em uma nova criação. O velho passa e tudo se faz novo. A vida nova é o resultado da obra redentora de Jesus em nosso coração.
Morte e ressurreição com Cristo
O batismo simboliza nossa morte para o pecado e ressurreição para uma nova vida. Fomos sepultados com Cristo e ressuscitamos com Ele.
Are you ignorant that we, as many as were immersed into Christ Jesus, were immersed into His death? We were buried together, then, with Him through the immersion into death, that even as Christ was raised up out of the dead through the glory of the Father, so we also might walk in newness of life.
For if we have become planted together to the likeness of His death, [so] we also will be of the resurrection; knowing this, that our old man was crucified with [Him], that the body of sin may be made useless, for our no longer serving sin, for he who has died has been set free from sin.
so also you, reckon yourselves to be dead indeed to sin, and living to God in Jesus Christ our Lord.
Nova criação
Quando aceitamos Jesus, nascemos de novo. A velha natureza dá lugar a uma identidade renovada pelo Espírito Santo.
so that if anyone [is] in Christ—[he is] a new creature; the old things passed away, behold, all things have become new.
I have been crucified with Christ, and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me; and that which I now live in the flesh—I live in the faith of the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself for me;
where there is not Greek and Jew, circumcision and uncircumcision, foreigner, Scythian, servant, freeman, but Christ [is] all and in all.
Despir o velho, vestir o novo
A vida nova se manifesta em abandonar os velhos hábitos e revestir-se do novo homem, criado segundo a vontade de Deus.
concerning the former behavior you are to put off the old man, that is corrupt according to the desires of the deceit, and to be renewed in the spirit of your mind, and to put on the new man, which, according to God, was created in righteousness and kindness of the truth.
but now put off, even you, the whole—anger, wrath, malice, slander, filthy talking—out of your mouth. Do not lie to one another, having put off the old man with his practices, and having put on the new, which is renewed in regard to knowledge, after the image of Him who created him,
if we may confess our sins, He is steadfast and righteous that He may forgive us the sins, and may cleanse us from every unrighteousness;
Renovação interior
Deus promete dar um coração novo e um espírito novo. A transformação nasce do arrependimento e da purificação divina.
Create for me a clean heart, O God, || And renew a right spirit within me. Do not cast me forth from Your presence, || And do not take Your Holy Spirit from me. Restore to me the joy of Your salvation, || And a willing spirit sustains me.
And I have sprinkled clean water over you, || And you have been clean; I cleanse you from all your uncleannesses, || And from all your idols. And I have given a new heart to you, || And I give a new spirit in your midst, || And I have turned aside the heart of stone out of your flesh, || And I have given a heart of flesh to you. And I give My Spirit in your midst, || And I have done this, so that you walk in My statutes, || And you keep My judgments, and have done them.
among whom we also all walked once in the desires of our flesh, doing the wishes of the flesh and of the thoughts, and were by nature children of wrath—as also the others, but God, being rich in kindness, because of His great love with which He loved us, even being dead in the trespasses, made us alive together with the Christ (by grace you are saved),
