Vizinho
Amar o próximo é um dos mandamentos centrais do evangelho. A Bíblia nos ensina que nossos vizinhos são aqueles a quem devemos servir, apoiar e encorajar com amor genuíno.
O mandamento do amor ao próximo
Jesus resume a Lei no amor a Deus e ao próximo. Amar o vizinho como a si mesmo é cumprir toda a Lei.
The second is ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ There’s no more important commandment than these."
For the whole law is summed up in this one command, "You shall love your neighbor as yourself."
"You must not commit adultery, you must not kill, you must not steal, you must not jealously want things for yourself"—these and the other commandments are summed up in the statement, "Love your neighbor as yourself."
Love doesn’t do wrong to anyone, so love fulfills the law.
Treat others the way you want them to treat you. This sums up the law and the prophets.
Amor em ação
O amor verdadeiro se mostra em ações concretas: hospitalidade, generosidade e cuidado com os necessitados ao nosso redor.
May love for each other as brothers and sisters always continue! Don’t forget to show love for strangers too, because by doing so some have welcomed angels without knowing it.
In the eyes of our God and Father, religion that’s pure and genuine is to visit orphans and widows in their suffering, and to keep yourself from being contaminated by the world.
Most of all, you should love one another very deeply, for love covers many of the wrong things people do.
So while we have time, let’s do good to everyone—especially to those who belong to the family of faith.
The message you’ve heard from the beginning is simply this: we should love one another.
I am giving you a new command: Love one another. Love one another in the same way I have loved you.
Edificação e encorajamento mútuo
Somos chamados a encorajar uns aos outros, carregar os fardos alheios e buscar o bem do próximo acima do próprio interesse.
So encourage and strengthen one another, just as you are doing.
Carry each other’s burdens, for in this way you fulfill the law of Christ.
We should all encourage others to do what’s morally right, building them up.
You shouldn’t look out for yourself, but for your neighbor.
Be completely dedicated to each other in your love as family; value others more than yourselves.
May the Lord increase your love so it overflows to one another, and to everyone, just as we love you.
Humildade, perdão e convivência
O relacionamento com o próximo exige humildade, paciência e disposição para perdoar. Não devemos julgar, mas acolher com compaixão.
Don’t do anything from a spirit of selfishness or pride, but humbly think of others better than you do of yourself.
Be patient with one another, forgive others among you if you have grievances against one another. Just as the Lord forgave you, you should do the same.
Therefore let’s not judge each other anymore, but decide to do this instead—we won’t put obstacles in the way of fellow-believers, or cause them to fall.
So if you judge others you don’t have any excuse, whoever you are! For in whatever way you condemn others, you’re judging yourself, because you’re doing the same things.
Finally, you should all have the same attitude. Be sympathetic and love each other. Be compassionate, and humble.
Some people consider some days more important than others, while others consider each day the same. Everyone should be completely convinced in their own minds.
Anyone who isn’t kind to a friend has given up respecting the Almighty.
