2 There are many rooms in my Father’s house. I wouldn’t tell you this, unless it was true. I am going there to prepare a place for each of you. 3 After I have done this, I will come back and take you with me. Then we will be together.

9 *After Jesus had said this and while they were watching, he was taken up into a cloud. They could not see him, 10 but as he went up, they kept looking up into the sky.

Suddenly two men dressed in white clothes were standing there beside them. 11 They said, "Why are you men from Galilee standing here and looking up into the sky? Jesus has been taken to heaven. But he will come back in the same way you have seen him go."

20 The one who has spoken these things says, "I am coming soon!"

So, Lord Jesus, please come soon!

12 *Then I was told:

I am coming soon! And when I come, I will reward everyone for what they have done.

36 No one knows the day or hour. The angels in heaven don’t know, and the Son himself doesn’t know.* Only the Father knows. 37 *When the Son of Man appears, things will be just as they were when Noah lived. 38 People were eating, drinking, and getting married right up to the day the flood came and Noah went into the big boat. 39 *They didn’t know anything was happening until the flood came and swept them all away. This is how it will be when the Son of Man appears.

32 *No one knows the day or the time. The angels in heaven don’t know, and the Son himself doesn’t know. Only the Father knows.

1 I don’t need to write you about the time or date when all this will happen. 2 *You surely know that the Lord’s return* will be as a thief coming at night. 3 People will think they are safe and secure. But destruction will suddenly strike them like the pains of a woman about to give birth. And they won’t escape.

42 So be on your guard! You don’t know when your Lord will come. 43 *Homeowners never know when a thief is coming, and they are always on guard to keep one from breaking in. 44 Always be ready! You don’t know when the Son of Man will come.

1 *When our Lord Jesus returns, we will be gathered up to meet him. So I ask you, my friends, 2 not to be easily upset or disturbed by people who claim the Lord* has already come. They may say they heard this directly from the Holy Spirit, or from someone else, or even that they read it in one of our letters. 3 But don’t be fooled! People will rebel against God. Then before the Lord returns, the wicked* one who is doomed to be destroyed will appear. 4 *He will brag and oppose everything holy or sacred. He will even sit in God’s temple and claim to be God.

16 *With a loud command and with the shout of the chief angel and a blast of God’s trumpet, the Lord will return from heaven. Then those who had faith in Christ before they died will be raised to life. 17 Next, all of us who are still alive will be taken up into the clouds together with them to meet the Lord in the sky. From that time on we will all be with the Lord forever.

24 *In those days, right after this time of suffering,

"The sun will become dark,

and the moon

will no longer shine.

25 *The stars will fall,

and the powers in the sky*

will be shaken."

26 *Then the Son of Man will be seen coming in the clouds with great power and glory. 27 He will send his angels to gather his chosen ones from all over the earth.

31 *When the Son of Man comes in his glory with all his angels, he will sit on his royal throne. 32 The people of all nations will be brought before him, and he will separate them, as shepherds separate their sheep from their goats.

33 He will place the sheep on his right and the goats on his left.

11 *I looked and saw heaven was open, and a white horse was there. Its rider was called Faithful and True, and he is always fair when he judges or goes to war. 12 *He had eyes like flames of fire, and he was wearing a lot of crowns. His name was written on him, but he was the only one who knew what the name meant.

13 *The rider wore a robe that was covered with* blood, and he was known as "The Word of God." 14 He was followed by armies from heaven that rode on white horses and were dressed in pure white linen. 15 *From his mouth a sharp sword went out to attack the nations. He will rule them with an iron rod and will show the fierce anger of God All-Powerful by trampling the grapes in the pit where wine is made. 16 On the part of the robe that covered his thigh was written, "KING OF KINGS AND Lord OF LordS."

26 If you are ashamed of me and my message, the Son of Man will be ashamed of you when he comes in his glory and in the glory of his Father and the holy angels.

8 *Dear friends, don’t forget that for the Lord one day is the same as 1,000 years, and 1,000 years is the same as one day. 9 The Lord isn’t slow about keeping his promises, as some people think he is. In fact, God is patient, because he wants everyone to turn from sin and no one to be lost.

10 *The day of the Lord’s return will surprise us like a thief. The heavens will disappear with a loud noise, and the heat will melt the whole universe.* Then the earth and everything on it will be seen for what they are.*

11 Everything will be destroyed. So you should serve and honor God by the way you live. 12 You should look forward to the day when God judges everyone, and you should try to make it come soon.* On that day the heavens will be destroyed by fire, and everything else will melt in the heat. 13 *But God has promised us a new heaven and a new earth, where justice will rule. We are really looking forward to this!

27 We die only once, and then we are judged. 28 *So Christ died only once to take away the sins of many people. But when he comes again, it will not be to take away sin. He will come to save everyone who is waiting for him.
