2 In *my Father’s house are many rooms. If it were not so, would I have told you that *I go to prepare a place for you?*3 And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and will take you *to myself, that *where I am you may be also.

9 And when he had said these things, as they were looking on, *he was lifted up, and *a cloud took him out of their sight. 10 And while they were gazing into heaven as he went, behold, *two *men stood by them in *white robes, 11 and said, *"Men of Galilee, why do you stand looking into heaven? This Jesus, who was taken up from you into heaven, *will *come in the same way as you saw him go into heaven."

20 He who testifies to these things says, "Surely *I am coming soon." Amen. *Come, Lord Jesus!

12 "Behold, *I am coming soon, *bringing my recompense with me, *to repay each one for what he has done.

36 "But concerning that day and hour *no one knows, not even the angels of heaven, *nor the Son,**but the Father only.37 *For as were the days of Noah, *so will be the coming of the Son of Man.38 *For as in those days before the flood they were eating and drinking, *marrying and giving in marriage, until *the day when Noah entered the ark,39 and they were unaware until the flood came and swept them all away, *so will be the coming of the Son of Man.

32 "But concerning that day or that hour, *no one knows, not even the angels in heaven, *nor the Son, *but only the Father.

1 Now concerning *the times and the seasons, brothers,**you have no need to have anything written to you. 2 For you yourselves are fully aware that *the day of the Lord will come like a thief in the night. 3 While people are saying, "There is peace and security," then *sudden destruction will come upon them *as labor pains come upon a pregnant woman, and they will not escape.

42 Therefore, *stay awake, for you do not know on what day *your Lord is coming.43 *But know this, that if the master of the house had known in what part of the night *the thief was coming, he would have stayed awake and would not have let his house be broken into.44 Therefore you also must be *ready, for *the Son of Man is coming at an hour you do not expect.

1 Now concerning *the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ and our *being gathered together to him, we ask you, brothers,*2 not to be quickly shaken in mind or *alarmed, either *by a spirit or a *spoken word, or *a letter seeming to be from us, to the effect that *the day of the Lord has come. 3 *Let no one deceive you in any way. For that day will not come, *unless the rebellion comes first, and *the man of lawlessness* is revealed, *the son of destruction,*4 who opposes and exalts himself against every so-called god or object of worship, so that he takes his seat in the temple of God, *proclaiming himself to be God.

16 For *the Lord himself will descend *from heaven *with a cry of command, with the voice of *an archangel, and *with the sound of the trumpet of God. And *the dead in Christ will rise first. 17 Then we who are alive, who are left, will be *caught up together with them *in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air, and so *we will always be with the Lord.

24 "But in those days, after *that tribulation, *the sun will be darkened, and the moon will not give its light,25 and *the stars will be falling from heaven, and the powers in the heavens will be shaken.26 And then they will see *the Son of Man coming in clouds *with great power and glory.27 And then *he will send out the angels and *gather *his elect from *the four winds, from *the ends of the earth *to the ends of heaven.

31 *"When the Son of Man comes in his glory, and all the angels with him, *then he will sit on his glorious throne.32 Before him *will be gathered *all the nations, and *he will separate people one from another as a shepherd separates *the sheep from the goats.33 And he will place the sheep on his right, but the goats on the left.

11 Then I saw *heaven opened, and behold, *a white horse! The one sitting on it is called *Faithful and True, and *in righteousness he judges and makes war. 12 *His eyes are like a flame of fire, and on his head are *many diadems, and he has *a name written that no one knows but himself. 13 He is clothed in *a robe dipped in* blood, and the name by which he is called is *The Word of God. 14 And the armies of heaven, *arrayed in fine linen, white and pure, *were following him on white horses. 15 *From his mouth comes a sharp sword *with which to strike down the nations, and *he will rule* them with a rod of iron. *He will tread the winepress of the fury of the wrath of God the Almighty. 16 On his robe and on his thigh *he has a name written, *King of kings and Lord of lords.

26 For *whoever is ashamed of me and of my words, of him will the Son of Man be ashamed *when he comes in *his glory and the glory of the Father and of *the holy angels.

8 But do not overlook this one fact, beloved, that with the Lord one day is as a thousand years, and *a thousand years as one day. 9 *The Lord is not slow to fulfill his promise *as some count slowness, but *is patient toward you,**not wishing that any should perish, but *that all should reach repentance. 10 But *the day of the Lord will come like a thief, and then *the heavens will pass away with a roar, and *the heavenly bodies* will be burned up and dissolved, and the earth and the works that are done on it will be exposed.*

11 Since all these things are thus to be dissolved, *what sort of people ought you to be in lives of holiness and godliness, 12 *waiting for and hastening the coming of the day of God, because of which the heavens will be set on fire and dissolved, and *the heavenly bodies will melt as they burn! 13 But according to his promise we are waiting for *new heavens and a new earth *in which righteousness dwells.

27 And just as *it is appointed for man to die once, and *after that comes judgment, 28 so Christ, having been offered once *to bear the sins of *many, will appear *a second time, *not to deal with sin but to save those who are eagerly *waiting for him.
