Viúvas
A Bíblia revela um cuidado especial de Deus pelas viúvas. Ao longo das Escrituras, encontramos mandamentos claros de proteção, justiça e compaixão, refletindo o caráter amoroso do Senhor.
A proteção divina
Deus se apresenta como defensor das viúvas, garantindo que não fiquem desamparadas. Ele acolhe os que sofrem e sustenta os que perderam seu amparo terreno.
But let the tzaddikim have simchah;
let them rejoice before Elohim;
and, let them rejoice with simchah.
Sing unto Elohim,
sing praises to Shmo;
extol Him that rideth on the clouds by Shmo Hashem,
and rejoice before Him.
Hashem shomer over the gerim;
He relieveth the yatom (fatherless, orphan) and almanah;
but the Derech Resha’im He frustrates.
Because I delivered the oni that cried out,
and the yatom that had no ozer (helper) for him.
The birkat oved (blessing of the oppressed) came upon me,
and I caused the lev almanah to sing for joy.
Justiça e compaixão
A Palavra ordena que seu povo pratique a justiça, protegendo os mais frágeis e defendendo a causa dos necessitados.
Open thy peh (mouth), judge tzedek,
and plead the cause of the oni and the evyon.
Thus saith Hashem Tzva’os, saying:
Administer mishpat emes.
And let every man show chesed and rachamim to his brother;
And oppress not the almanah, nor the yetomim,
the ger, nor the aniyim;
and let none of you imagine ra’ah
against his brother in your lev.
If thou cause them pain in any way, and they cry at all unto Me, I will surely hear their cry; And My wrath shall be kindled, and I will kill you with the cherev; and your nashim shall be almanot, and your banim shall be yetomim.
If thou lend kesef to any of My people that is poor among thee, thou shalt not be to him as a nosheh (a usurer), neither shalt thou lay upon him neshekh (usury, interest).
Learn to do good;
seek mishpat,
relieve the oppressed,
judge the fatherless,
plead for the almanah.
O chamado da Igreja
No Novo Testamento, o cuidado com as viúvas é expressão genuína da fé cristã. Tiago declara que a religião pura inclui visitar os necessitados.
Avodas Kodesh that is tehorah (pure) and tamimah (unblemished) before Elohim HaAv is this: to visit yetomim (orphans) and almanot (widows) in their tzoros and to be shomer against the defilement of the Olam Hazeh.
Honor [with support] almanot (widows) that are really almanot.
