1 Ora, em toda a terra havia apenas uma linguagem e uma só maneira de falar. 9 Chamou-se-lhe, por isso, o nome de Babel, porque ali confundiu o Senhor a linguagem de toda a terra e dali o Senhor os dispersou por toda a superfície dela.

1 And the whole earth was of one language, and of one speech.
9 Therefore is the name of it called Babel; because the LORD did there confound the language of all the earth: and from there did the LORD scatter them abroad on the face of all the earth.
