Salmos 138

A Psalm of David.

1 I will give thee thanks with my whole heart:

Before the gods will I sing praises unto thee.

2 I will worship toward thy holy temple,

And give thanks unto thy name for thy lovingkindness and for thy truth:

For thou hast magnified thy word above all thy name.

3 In the day that I called thou answeredst me,

Thou didst encourage me with strength in my soul.

4 All the kings of the earth shall give thee thanks, O Jehovah,

For they have heard the words of thy mouth.

5 Yea, they shall sing of the ways of Jehovah;

For great is the glory of Jehovah.

6 For though Jehovah is high, yet hath he respect unto the lowly;

But the haughty he knoweth from afar.

7 Though I walk in the midst of trouble, thou wilt revive me;

Thou wilt stretch forth thy hand against the wrath of mine enemies,

And thy right hand will save me.

8 Jehovah will perfect that which concerneth me:

Thy lovingkindness, O Jehovah, endureth for ever;

Forsake not the works of thine own hands.

Louvor a Deus por sua fidelidade

Salmo de Davi

1 Eu te louvarei,

de todo o meu coração;

na presença dos deuses

a ti cantarei louvores.

2 Inclinar-me-ei

para o teu santo templo,

e louvarei o teu nome

pela tua benignidade,

e pela tua verdade;

pois engrandeceste a tua palavra

acima de todo o teu nome.

3 No dia em que eu clamei,

me escutaste;

e alentaste com força

a minha alma.

4 Todos os reis da terra

te louvarão, ó Senhor,

quando ouvirem

as palavras da tua boca;

5 E cantarão

os caminhos do Senhor;

pois grande é

a glória do Senhor.

6 Ainda que o Senhor é excelso,

atenta todavia para o humilde;

mas ao soberbo

conhece-o de longe.

7 Andando eu no meio da angústia,

tu me reviverás;

estenderás a tua mão contra a ira

dos meus inimigos,

e a tua destra me salvará.

8 O Senhor aperfeiçoará

o que me toca;

a tua benignidade, ó Senhor,

dura para sempre;

não desampares as obras

das tuas mãos.
