13 But the angel said unto him, Fear not, Zacharias: because thy supplication is heard, and thy wife Elisabeth shall bear thee a son, and thou shalt call his name John. 14 And thou shalt have joy and gladness; and many shall rejoice at his birth. 15 For he shall be great in the sight of the Lord, and he shall drink no wine nor strong drink; and he shall be filled with the Holy Spirit, even from his mother’s womb.

14 En hy sal blydskap en verheuging vir jou wees, en baie sal oor sy geboorte bly wees;

15 want hy sal groot wees voor die Here. En wyn en sterk drank sal hy nooit drink nie, en hy sal vervul word met die Heilige Gees reeds van die skoot van sy moeder af.
