1 Thus saith Jehovah: For three transgressions of Moab, yea, for four, I will not turn away the punishment thereof; because he burned the bones of the king of Edom into lime. 2 But I will send a fire upon Moab, and it shall devour the palaces of Kerioth; and Moab shall die with tumult, with shouting, and with the sound of the trumpet; 3 and I will cut off the judge from the midst thereof, and will slay all the princes thereof with him, saith Jehovah.

4 Thus saith Jehovah: For three transgressions of Judah, yea, for four, I will not turn away the punishment thereof; because they have rejected the law of Jehovah, and have not kept his statutes, and their lies have caused them to err, after which their fathers did walk. 5 But I will send a fire upon Judah, and it shall devour the palaces of Jerusalem.

6 Thus saith Jehovah: For three transgressions of Israel, yea, for four, I will not turn away the punishment thereof; because they have sold the righteous for silver, and the needy for a pair of shoes— 7 they that pant after the dust of the earth on the head of the poor, and turn aside the way of the meek: and a man and his father go unto the same maiden, to profane my holy name: 8 and they lay themselves down beside every altar upon clothes taken in pledge; and in the house of their God they drink the wine of such as have been fined.

9 Yet destroyed I the Amorite before them, whose height was like the height of the cedars, and he was strong as the oaks; yet I destroyed his fruit from above, and his roots from beneath. 10 Also I brought you up out of the land of Egypt, and led you forty years in the wilderness, to possess the land of the Amorite. 11 And I raised up of your sons for prophets, and of your young men for Nazirites. Is it not even thus, O ye children of Israel? saith Jehovah. 12 But ye gave the Nazirites wine to drink, and commanded the prophets, saying, Prophesy not.

13 Behold, I will press you in your place, as a cart presseth that is full of sheaves. 14 And flight shall perish from the swift; and the strong shall not strengthen his force; neither shall the mighty deliver himself; 15 neither shall he stand that handleth the bow; and he that is swift of foot shall not deliver himself; neither shall he that rideth the horse deliver himself; 16 and he that is courageous among the mighty shall flee away naked in that day, saith Jehovah.

1 Așa vorbește Domnul: „Pentru trei nelegiuiri ale Moabului*Is. 15;16.Ier. 48:1.Ezec. 25:8.Ţef. 2:8., ba pentru patru, nu-Mi schimb hotărârea, pentru că a ars, a ars*2 Împ. 3:27. până le-a făcut var, oasele împăratului Edomului, 2 de aceea voi trimite foc în Moab și va mistui palatele Cheriotului*Ier. 48:41., și Moabul va pieri în mijlocul zarvei, în mijlocul strigătelor*Cap. 1:14. de război și al sunetului trâmbiței. 3 Voi nimici cu desăvârșire pe judecător*Num. 24:17.Ier. 48:7. din mijlocul lui și voi ucide pe toate căpeteniile lui împreună cu el", zice Domnul.

4 Așa vorbește Domnul: „Pentru trei nelegiuiri ale lui Iuda, ba pentru patru, nu-Mi schimb hotărârea, pentru că*Lev. 26:14,15.Neem. 1:7.Dan. 9:11. au nesocotit Legea Domnului și n-au păzit poruncile Lui, ci s-au lăsat duși în rătăcire de idolii*Is. 28:15.Ier. 16:19,20.Rom. 1:25. cei mincinoși după care*Ezec. 20:13,16,18,24,30. au umblat și părinții lor, 5 de aceea*Ier. 17:27.Osea 8:14. voi trimite foc în Iuda și va mistui palatele Ierusalimului."

6 Așa vorbește Domnul: „Pentru trei nelegiuiri ale lui Israel, ba pentru patru, nu-Mi schimb hotărârea, pentru că au vândut*Is. 29:21. Cap. 8:6. pe cel neprihănit pe bani și pe sărac pe o pereche de încălțăminte. 7 Ei doresc să vadă țărâna pământului pe capul celor sărmani și calcă în picioare*Is. 10:2. Cap. 5:12. dreptul celor nenorociți. Fiul*Ezec. 22:11. și tatăl se duc la aceeași fată, ca să pângărească*Lev. 20:3.Ezec. 36:20.Rom. 2:24. Numele Meu cel sfânt. 8 Se întind lângă fiecare altar*Ezec. 23:41.1 Cor. 8:10;10:21. pe haine luate ca zălog*Exod 22:26. și beau în casa dumnezeilor lor amenda celor osândiți de ei. 9 Și totuși Eu am nimicit*Num. 21:24.Deut. 2:31.Ios. 24:8. dinaintea lor pe amoriți, care erau cât cedrii de înalți*Num. 13:28,32,33. și tari ca stejarii; le-am nimicit roadele*Is. 5:24.Mal. 4:1. din vârf până în rădăcini. 10 Și Eu v-am scos*Exod 12:51.Mica 6:4. din țara Egiptului și v-am povățuit*Deut. 2:7;8:2. patruzeci de ani în pustie, ca să vă dau în stăpânire țara amoriților. 11 Am ridicat proroci dintre fiii voștri și nazirei*Num. 6:2.Jud. 13:5. dintre tinerii voștri. Nu este așa, copii ai lui Israel?", zice Domnul. 12 „Iar voi ați dat nazireilor să bea vin și prorocilor le-ați poruncit*Is. 30:10.Ier. 11:21. Cap. 7:12,13.Mica 2:6.: ‘Nu prorociți!’ 13 Iată*Is. 1:14., vă voi stropși cum stropșește pământul carul încărcat cu snopi, 14 așa că cel iute nu va putea să fugă*Ier. 9:23. Cap. 9:1., iar cel tare*Ps. 33:16. nu se va putea sluji de tăria lui, și omul viteaz nu-și va scăpa viața. 15 Cel ce mânuiește arcul nu va putea să țină piept, cel iute de picioare nu va scăpa și călărețul*Ps. 33:17. nu-și va scăpa viața, 16 iar cel mai inimos dintre războinici va fugi în pielea goală în ziua aceea", zice Domnul.
