1 Hear this word, ye kine of Bashan, that are in the mountain of Samaria, that oppress the poor, that crush the needy, that say unto their lords, Bring, and let us drink. 2 The Lord Jehovah hath sworn by his holiness, that, lo, the days shall come upon you, that they shall take you away with hooks, and your residue with fish-hooks. 3 And ye shall go out at the breaches, every one straight before her; and ye shall cast yourselves into Harmon, saith Jehovah.

4 Come to Beth-el, and transgress; to Gilgal, and multiply transgression; and bring your sacrifices every morning, and your tithes every three days; 5 and offer a sacrifice of thanksgiving of that which is leavened, and proclaim freewill-offerings and publish them: for this pleaseth you, O ye children of Israel, saith the Lord Jehovah.

6 And I also have given you cleanness of teeth in all your cities, and want of bread in all your places; yet have ye not returned unto me, saith Jehovah. 7 And I also have withholden the rain from you, when there were yet three months to the harvest; and I caused it to rain upon one city, and caused it not to rain upon another city: one piece was rained upon, and the piece whereupon it rained not withered. 8 So two or three cities wandered unto one city to drink water, and were not satisfied: yet have ye not returned unto me, saith Jehovah. 9 I have smitten you with blasting and mildew: the multitude of your gardens and your vineyards and your fig-trees and your olive-trees hath the palmer-worm devoured: yet have ye not returned unto me, saith Jehovah. 10 I have sent among you the pestilence after the manner of Egypt: your young men have I slain with the sword, and have carried away your horses; and I have made the stench of your camp to come up even into your nostrils: yet have ye not returned unto me, saith Jehovah. 11 I have overthrown cities among you, as when God overthrew Sodom and Gomorrah, and ye were as a brand plucked out of the burning: yet have ye not returned unto me, saith Jehovah.

12 Therefore thus will I do unto thee, O Israel; and because I will do this unto thee, prepare to meet thy God, O Israel. 13 For, lo, he that formeth the mountains, and createth the wind, and declareth unto man what is his thought; that maketh the morning darkness, and treadeth upon the high places of the earth—Jehovah, the God of hosts, is his name.

Duceți-vă la Ghilgal*Osea 4:15;12:11. Cap. 5:5. și păcătuiți și mai mult! Aduceți-vă*Num. 28:3,4. jertfele în fiecare dimineață și zeciuielile*Deut. 14:28. la fiecare trei zile! 5 Faceți să fumege jertfe de mulțumire*Lev. 7:13;23:17. făcute cu aluat! Trâmbițați-vă, vestiți-vă darurile de mâncare de bunăvoie*Lev. 22:18,21.Deut. 12:6.! Căci așa*Ps. 81:12. vă place, copii ai lui Israel", zice Domnul Dumnezeu. 6 „Și Eu, de partea Mea, v-am trimis foametea în toate cetățile voastre și lipsa de pâine în toate locuințele voastre. Cu toate acestea, tot*Is. 26:11.Ier. 5:3. Vers. 8,9.Hag. 2:17. nu v-ați întors la Mine", zice Domnul. 7 „N-am vrut să vă dau nici ploaie când mai erau încă trei luni până la secerat; am dat ploaie peste o cetate, dar n-am dat ploaie peste o altă cetate; într-un ogor a plouat, și altul, în care n-a plouat, s-a uscat. 8 Două, trei cetăți s-au dus la alta ca să bea apă, și tot nu și-au potolit setea. Cu toate acestea, tot*Vers. 6,10,11. nu v-ați întors la Mine", zice Domnul. 9 „V-am*Deut. 28:22.Hag. 2:17. lovit cu rugină în grâu și cu tăciune; grădinile voastre cele multe, viile, smochinii și măslinii voștri i-au mâncat deseori lăcustele*Ioel 1:4;2:25.. Cu toate acestea, tot nu v-ați întors la Mine", zice Domnul. 10 „Am trimis în voi ciuma, ca*Exod 9:3,6;12:29.Deut. 28:27,60.Ps. 78:50. în Egipt; v-am ucis tinerii cu sabia și am lăsat să vi se ia caii, am făcut să vi se suie în nări duhoarea taberei voastre. Și, cu toate acestea, tot*Vers. 6. nu v-ați întors la Mine", zice Domnul. 11 „V-am nimicit ca pe Sodoma și Gomora*Gen. 19:24,25.Is. 13:19.Ier. 49:18., pe care le-a nimicit Dumnezeu, și ați fost*Zah. 3:2.Iuda 23. ca un tăciune scos din foc. Cu toate acestea, tot*Vers. 6. nu v-ați întors la Mine", zice Domnul. 12 „De aceea îți voi face astfel, Israele, și, fiindcă îți voi face astfel, pregătește-te*Ezec. 13:5;22:30.Luca 14:31,32. să întâlnești pe Dumnezeul tău, Israele!" 13 Căci iată că El a întocmit munții, a făcut vântul și spune omului*Ps. 139:2.Dan. 2:28. până și gândurile lui. El preface zorile*Cap. 5:8;8:9. în întuneric și umblă*Deut. 32:13;33:29.Mica 1:3. pe înălțimile pământului: Domnul*Is. 47:4.Ier. 10:16. Cap. 5:8;9:6. Dumnezeul oștirilor este Numele Lui.
