1 And it shall be, when thou art come in unto the land which Jehovah thy God giveth thee for an inheritance, and possessest it, and dwellest therein, 2 that thou shalt take of the first of all the fruit of the ground, which thou shalt bring in from thy land that Jehovah thy God giveth thee; and thou shalt put it in a basket, and shalt go unto the place which Jehovah thy God shall choose, to cause his name to dwell there. 3 And thou shalt come unto the priest that shall be in those days, and say unto him, I profess this day unto Jehovah thy God, that I am come unto the land which Jehovah sware unto our fathers to give us. 4 And the priest shall take the basket out of thy hand, and set it down before the altar of Jehovah thy God. 5 And thou shalt answer and say before Jehovah thy God, A Syrian ready to perish was my father; and he went down into Egypt, and sojourned there, few in number; and he became there a nation, great, mighty, and populous. 6 And the Egyptians dealt ill with us, and afflicted us, and laid upon us hard bondage: 7 and we cried unto Jehovah, the God of our fathers, and Jehovah heard our voice, and saw our affliction, and our toil, and our oppression; 8 and Jehovah brought us forth out of Egypt with a mighty hand, and with an outstretched arm, and with great terribleness, and with signs, and with wonders; 9 and he hath brought us into this place, and hath given us this land, a land flowing with milk and honey. 10 And now, behold, I have brought the first of the fruit of the ground, which thou, O Jehovah, hast given me. And thou shalt set it down before Jehovah thy God, and worship before Jehovah thy God: 11 and thou shalt rejoice in all the good which Jehovah thy God hath given unto thee, and unto thy house, thou, and the Levite, and the sojourner that is in the midst of thee.

12 When thou hast made an end of tithing all the tithe of thine increase in the third year, which is the year of tithing, then thou shalt give it unto the Levite, to the sojourner, to the fatherless, and to the widow, that they may eat within thy gates, and be filled. 13 And thou shalt say before Jehovah thy God, I have put away the hallowed things out of my house, and also have given them unto the Levite, and unto the sojourner, to the fatherless, and to the widow, according to all thy commandment which thou hast commanded me: I have not transgressed any of thy commandments, neither have I forgotten them: 14 I have not eaten thereof in my mourning, neither have I put away thereof, being unclean, nor given thereof for the dead: I have hearkened to the voice of Jehovah my God; I have done according to all that thou hast commanded me. 15 Look down from thy holy habitation, from heaven, and bless thy people Israel, and the ground which thou hast given us, as thou swarest unto our fathers, a land flowing with milk and honey.

16 This day Jehovah thy God commandeth thee to do these statutes and ordinances: thou shalt therefore keep and do them with all thy heart, and with all thy soul. 17 Thou hast avouched Jehovah this day to be thy God, and that thou wouldest walk in his ways, and keep his statutes, and his commandments, and his ordinances, and hearken unto his voice: 18 and Jehovah hath avouched thee this day to be a people for his own possession, as he hath promised thee, and that thou shouldest keep all his commandments; 19 and to make thee high above all nations that he hath made, in praise, and in name, and in honor; and that thou mayest be a holy people unto Jehovah thy God, as he hath spoken.

1 Când vei intra în țara pe care ți-o dă de moștenire Domnul Dumnezeul tău, când o vei stăpâni și te vei așeza în ea, 2 să*Exod 23:19;34:26.Num. 18:13. Cap. 16:10.Prov. 3:9. iei cele dintâi roade din toate roadele pe care le vei scoate din pământ, în țara pe care ți-o dă Domnul Dumnezeul tău, să le pui într-un coș și să te duci la*Cap. 12:5. locul pe care-l va alege Domnul Dumnezeul tău, ca să facă să locuiască Numele Lui acolo. 3 Să te duci la preotul care va fi în zilele acelea și să-i spui: ‘Mărturisesc astăzi înaintea Domnului Dumnezeului tău că am intrat în țara pe care Domnul a jurat părinților noștri că ne-o va da.’ 4 Preotul să ia coșul din mâna ta și să-l pună înaintea altarului Domnului Dumnezeului tău. 5 Apoi să iei iarăși cuvântul și să spui înaintea Domnului Dumnezeului tău: ‘Tatăl meu era un arameu*Osea 12:12. pribeag, gata să piară; s-a coborât*Gen. 46:1,6.Fapte 7:15.Gen. 46:27. în Egipt cu*Cap. 10:22. puțini inși și s-a așezat acolo pentru o vreme. Acolo, a ajuns un neam mare, puternic și mare la număr. 6 Egiptenii*Exod 1:11. ne-au chinuit, ne-au asuprit și ne-au supus la grea robie. 7 Noi am strigat*Exod 2:23-25;3:9;4:31. către Domnul Dumnezeul părinților noștri. Domnul ne-a auzit glasul și a văzut asuprirea, chinurile și necazurile noastre. 8 Și Domnul*Exod 12:37,51;13:3,14,16. Cap. 5:15. ne-a scos din Egipt, cu mână tare și cu braț întins, cu arătări înfricoșătoare*Cap. 4:34., cu semne și minuni. 9 El ne-a adus în locul acesta și ne-a dat țara aceasta*Exod 3:8., țară în care curge lapte și miere. 10 Acum, iată, aduc cele dintâi roade din roadele pământului pe care mi l-ai dat Tu, Doamne!’ Să le pui înaintea Domnului Dumnezeului tău și să te închini înaintea Domnului Dumnezeului tău. 11 Apoi să te*Cap. 12:7,12,18;16:11. bucuri, cu levitul și cu străinul care va fi în mijlocul tău, de toate bunurile pe care ți le-a dat Domnul Dumnezeul tău ție și casei tale.

12 După ce vei isprăvi*Lev. 27:30.Num. 18:24. de luat toată zeciuiala din roadele tale, în anul al treilea, anul*Cap. 14:28,29. zeciuielii, s-o dai levitului, străinului, orfanului și văduvei, și ei să mănânce și să se sature în cetățile tale. 13 Să spui înaintea Domnului Dumnezeului tău: ‘Am scos din casa mea ce este sfințit și l-am dat levitului, străinului, orfanului și văduvei, după toate poruncile pe care mi le-ai dat Tu; n-am călcat, nici n-am uitat*Ps. 119:141,153,176. niciuna din poruncile Tale. 14 N-am mâncat nimic*Lev. 7:20;21:1,11.Osea 9:4. din aceste lucruri în timpul meu de jale, n-am îndepărtat nimic din ele pentru vreo întrebuințare necurată și n-am dat nimic din ele cu prilejul unui mort; am ascultat de glasul Domnului Dumnezeului meu, am lucrat după toate poruncile pe care mi le-ai dat. 15 Privește*Is. 63:15.Zah. 2:13. din Locașul Tău cel Sfânt, din ceruri, și binecuvântează pe poporul Tău Israel și țara pe care ne-ai dat-o, cum ai jurat părinților noștri, țara aceasta în care curge lapte și miere.’

16 Astăzi, Domnul Dumnezeul tău îți poruncește să împlinești legile și poruncile acestea; să le păzești și să le împlinești din toată inima ta și din tot sufletul tău. 17 Astăzi, tu ai mărturisit*Exod 20:19. înaintea Domnului că El va fi Dumnezeul tău, că vei umbla în căile Lui, vei păzi legile, poruncile și rânduielile Lui și vei asculta de glasul Lui. 18 Și azi, Domnul*Exod 6:7;19:5. Cap. 7:6;14:2;28:9. ți-a mărturisit că vei fi un popor al Lui, cum ți-a spus, dacă vei păzi toate poruncile Lui, 19 și îți va da asupra*Cap. 4:7,8;28:1.Ps. 148:14. tuturor neamurilor pe care le-a făcut întâietate în slavă, în faimă și în măreție și vei fi un popor sfânt*Exod 19:6. Cap. 7:6;28:9.1 Pet. 2:9. pentru Domnul Dumnezeul tău, cum ți-a spus."
