1 And it came to pass in the eleventh year, in the first day of the month, that the word of Jehovah came unto me, saying, 2 Son of man, because that Tyre hath said against Jerusalem, Aha, she is broken that was the gate of the peoples; she is turned unto me; I shall be replenished, now that she is laid waste: 3 therefore thus saith the Lord Jehovah, Behold, I am against thee, O Tyre, and will cause many nations to come up against thee, as the sea causeth its waves to come up. 4 And they shall destroy the walls of Tyre, and break down her towers: I will also scrape her dust from her, and make her a bare rock. 5 She shall be a place for the spreading of nets in the midst of the sea; for I have spoken it, saith the Lord Jehovah; and she shall become a spoil to the nations. 6 And her daughters that are in the field shall be slain with the sword: and they shall know that I am Jehovah.

7 For thus saith the Lord Jehovah: Behold, I will bring upon Tyre Nebuchadrezzar king of Babylon, king of kings, from the north, with horses, and with chariots, and with horsemen, and a company, and much people. 8 He shall slay with the sword thy daughters in the field; and he shall make forts against thee, and cast up a mound against thee, and raise up the buckler against thee. 9 And he shall set his battering engines against thy walls, and with his axes he shall break down thy towers. 10 By reason of the abundance of his horses their dust shall cover thee: thy walls shall shake at the noise of the horsemen, and of the wagons, and of the chariots, when he shall enter into thy gates, as men enter into a city wherein is made a breach. 11 With the hoofs of his horses shall he tread down all thy streets; he shall slay thy people with the sword; and the pillars of thy strength shall go down to the ground. 12 And they shall make a spoil of thy riches, and make a prey of thy merchandise; and they shall break down thy walls, and destroy thy pleasant houses; and they shall lay thy stones and thy timber and thy dust in the midst of the waters. 13 And I will cause the noise of thy songs to cease; and the sound of thy harps shall be no more heard. 14 And I will make thee a bare rock; thou shalt be a place for the spreading of nets; thou shalt be built no more: for I Jehovah have spoken it, saith the Lord Jehovah.

15 Thus saith the Lord Jehovah to Tyre: shall not the isles shake at the sound of thy fall, when the wounded groan, when the slaughter is made in the midst of thee? 16 Then all the princes of the sea shall come down from their thrones, and lay aside their robes, and strip off their broidered garments: they shall clothe themselves with trembling; they shall sit upon the ground, and shall tremble every moment, and be astonished at thee. 17 And they shall take up a lamentation over thee, and say to thee, How art thou destroyed, that wast inhabited by seafaring men, the renowned city, that was strong in the sea, she and her inhabitants, that caused their terror to be on all that dwelt there! 18 Now shall the isles tremble in the day of thy fall; yea, the isles that are in the sea shall be dismayed at thy departure.

19 For thus saith the Lord Jehovah: When I shall make thee a desolate city, like the cities that are not inhabited; when I shall bring up the deep upon thee, and the great waters shall cover thee; 20 then will I bring thee down with them that descend into the pit, to the people of old time, and will make thee to dwell in the nether parts of the earth, in the places that are desolate of old, with them that go down to the pit, that thou be not inhabited; and I will set glory in the land of the living. 21 I will make thee a terror, and thou shalt no more have any being; though thou be sought for, yet shalt thou never be found again, saith the Lord Jehovah.

1 În anul al unsprezecelea, în ziua întâi a lunii, Cuvântul Domnului mi-a vorbit astfel: 2 „Fiul omului, pentru că*Is. 23.Ier. 25:22;47:4.Amos 1:9.Zah. 9:2. Tirul a zis despre Ierusalim: ‘Ha! Ha!*Cap. 25:3;36:2. Este zdrobită poarta popoarelor! Și se întoarce la mine! Mă voi îmbogăți, căci el a rămas pustiu!’, 3 de aceea așa vorbește Domnul Dumnezeu: ‘Iată că am necaz pe tine, Tirule, și voi aduce împotriva ta multe neamuri, cum își ridică marea valurile! 4 Ele vor dărâma zidurile Tirului, îi vor surpa turnurile, îi voi răzui și țărâna și o voi face*Vers. 14. o stâncă goală. 5 Va rămâne în mare ca un loc unde se vor întinde mreje*Cap. 27:32. de prins pește; Eu am vorbit’, zice Domnul Dumnezeu. ‘Va fi prada neamurilor! 6 Cetățile din ținutul lui vor fi trecute prin sabie. Și vor ști*Cap. 25:5. astfel că Eu sunt Domnul.’ 7 Căci așa vorbește Domnul Dumnezeu: ‘Iată că aduc de la miazănoapte împotriva Tirului pe Nebucadnețar, împăratul*Ezra 7:12.Dan. 2:37. Babilonului, împăratul tuturor împăraților, cu cai, care, călăreți și cu o mare mulțime de popoare. 8 El va nimici cu sabia cetățile din ținutul tău; va face șanțuri*Cap. 21:22. de apărare împotriva ta, va ridica întărituri și va ridica scutul împotriva ta. 9 Va îndrepta loviturile berbecilor săi împotriva zidurilor tale și îți va surpa turnurile cu mașinile lui. 10 Mulțimea cailor lui te va acoperi de praf, zidurile tale se vor cutremura de vuietul călăreților, roților și carelor când va intra Nebucadnețar pe porțile tale cum se intră într-o cetate cucerită; 11 va călca toate ulițele tale cu copitele cailor lui și-ți va ucide poporul cu sabia, și stâlpii mândriei tale vor cădea la pământ. 12 Îți vor ridica bogățiile, îți vor prăda mărfurile, îți vor surpa zidurile, îți vor dărâma casele tale cele plăcute și vor arunca în ape pietrele, lemnele și țărâna ta. 13 Voi*Is. 14:11;24:8.Ier. 7:34;16:9;25:10. face să înceteze astfel glasul*Is. 23:16. Cap. 28:13.Apoc. 18:22. cântecelor tale și nu se va mai auzi sunetul harpelor tale. 14 Te*Vers. 4,5. voi face o stâncă goală; vei fi ca un loc în mare unde se vor întinde mreje de prins peștii și nu vei mai fi zidit la loc. Căci Eu, Domnul, am vorbit’, zice Domnul Dumnezeu. 15 Așa vorbește Domnul Dumnezeu despre Tir: ‘Se vor cutremura*Ier. 49:21. Vers. 18. Cap. 27:28;31:16. ostroavele de vuietul căderii tale, de gemetele răniților și de măcelul din mijlocul tău. 16 Toți voievozii mării*Is. 23:8. se dau jos*Iona 3:6. de pe scaunele lor de domnie, își scot mantalele și își leapădă hainele cusute la gherghef; se învelesc în spaimă și stau*Iov 2:13. pe pământ; întruna tremură*Cap. 32:10. de groază și stau înmărmuriți*Cap. 27:35. din pricina ta. 17 Ei fac o cântare de jale*Cap. 27:32.Apoc. 18:9. asupra ta și-ți zic: «Vai, cum ai fost nimicit tu, care erai locuit de cei ce străbat mările, cetate vestită, care erai puternică*Is. 23:4. pe mare! Cum a fost nimicită cetatea aceasta cu locuitorii ei, care băgau groaza în toți cei dimprejur! 18 Acum tremură*Vers. 15. ostroavele în ziua căderii tale, stau îngrozite ostroavele mării de sfârșitul tău.»’ 19 Căci așa vorbește Domnul Dumnezeu: ‘Când te voi preface într-o cetate pustie, ca cetățile care n-au locuitori, când voi ridica împotriva ta adâncul și când te vor acoperi apele cele mari, 20 te voi coborî împreună cu cei ce*Cap. 32:18,24. se coboară în groapă, la poporul de odinioară, și te voi așeza în adâncimile pământului, în singurătăți veșnice, lângă cei ce s-au coborât în groapă, ca să nu mai fii locuită și să nu te mai scoli în țara*Cap. 32:23,26,27,32. celor vii. 21 Te voi nimici*Cap. 27:36;28:19. cu desăvârșire, și nu vei mai fi; te vor căuta*Ps. 37:36., și nu te vor mai găsi niciodată’, zice Domnul Dumnezeu."
