A Psalm of David.

1 Fret not thyself because of evil-doers,

Neither be thou envious against them that work unrighteousness.

2 For they shall soon be cut down like the grass,

And wither as the green herb.

3 Trust in Jehovah, and do good;

Dwell in the land, and feed on his faithfulness.

4 Delight thyself also in Jehovah;

And he will give thee the desires of thy heart.

5 Commit thy way unto Jehovah;

Trust also in him, and he will bring it to pass.

6 And he will make thy righteousness to go forth as the light,

And thy justice as the noonday.

7 Rest in Jehovah, and wait patiently for him:

Fret not thyself because of him who prospereth in his way,

Because of the man who bringeth wicked devices to pass.

8 Cease from anger, and forsake wrath:

Fret not thyself, it tendeth only to evil-doing.

9 For evil-doers shall be cut off;

But those that wait for Jehovah, they shall inherit the land.

10 For yet a little while, and the wicked shall not be:

Yea, thou shalt diligently consider his place, and he shall not be.

11 But the meek shall inherit the land,

And shall delight themselves in the abundance of peace.

12 The wicked plotteth against the just,

And gnasheth upon him with his teeth.

13 The Lord will laugh at him;

For he seeth that his day is coming.

14 The wicked have drawn out the sword, and have bent their bow,

To cast down the poor and needy,

To slay such as are upright in the way.

15 Their sword shall enter into their own heart,

And their bows shall be broken.

16 Better is a little that the righteous hath

Than the abundance of many wicked.

17 For the arms of the wicked shall be broken;

But Jehovah upholdeth the righteous.

18 Jehovah knoweth the days of the perfect;

And their inheritance shall be for ever.

19 They shall not be put to shame in the time of evil;

And in the days of famine they shall be satisfied.

20 But the wicked shall perish,

And the enemies of Jehovah shall be as the fat of lambs:

They shall consume; in smoke shall they consume away.

21 The wicked borroweth, and payeth not again;

But the righteous dealeth graciously, and giveth.

22 For such as are blessed of him shall inherit the land;

And they that are cursed of him shall be cut off.

23 A man’s goings are established of Jehovah;

And he delighteth in his way.

24 Though he fall, he shall not be utterly cast down;

For Jehovah upholdeth him with his hand.

25 I have been young, and now am old;

Yet have I not seen the righteous forsaken,

Nor his seed begging bread.

26 All the day long he dealeth graciously, and lendeth;

And his seed is blessed.

27 Depart from evil, and do good;

And dwell for evermore.

28 For Jehovah loveth justice,

And forsaketh not his saints;

They are preserved for ever:

But the seed of the wicked shall be cut off.

29 The righteous shall inherit the land,

And dwell therein for ever.

30 The mouth of the righteous talketh of wisdom,

And his tongue speaketh justice.

31 The law of his God is in his heart;

None of his steps shall slide.

32 The wicked watcheth the righteous,

And seeketh to slay him.

33 Jehovah will not leave him in his hand,

Nor condemn him when he is judged.

34 Wait for Jehovah, and keep his way,

And he will exalt thee to inherit the land:

When the wicked are cut off, thou shalt see it.

35 I have seen the wicked in great power,

And spreading himself like a green tree in its native soil.

36 But one passed by, and, lo, he was not:

Yea, I sought him, but he could not be found.

37 Mark the perfect man, and behold the upright;

For there is a happy end to the man of peace.

38 As for transgressors, they shall be destroyed together:

The end of the wicked shall be cut off.

39 But the salvation of the righteous is of Jehovah:

He is their stronghold in the time of trouble.

40 And Jehovah helpeth them, and rescueth them:

He rescueth them from the wicked, and saveth them,

Because they have taken refuge in him.

și nu te uita cu jind la cei ce fac răul;

2 căci sunt cosiți iute, ca*Ps. 90:5,6. iarba,

și se veștejesc ca verdeața!

3 Încrede-te în Domnul și fă binele;

locuiește în țară și umblă în credincioșie!

4 Domnul să-ți fie desfătarea*Is. 58:14.

și El îți va da tot ce-ți dorește inima.

5 Încredințează-ți*Ps. 55:22.Prov. 16:8.Mat. 6:25.Luca 12:22.1 Pet. 5:7. soarta în mâna Domnului,

încrede-te în El și El va lucra!

6 El va*Iov 11:17.Mica 7:9. face să strălucească dreptatea ta ca lumina

și dreptul tău ca soarele la amiază.

7 Taci*Ps. 62:1. înaintea Domnului și nădăjduiește*Is. 30:15.Plâng. 3:26. în El!

Nu*Vers. 1,8.Ier. 12:1. te mânia pe cel ce izbutește în umbletele lui,

pe omul care își vede împlinirea planurilor lui rele!

8 Lasă mânia, părăsește iuțimea;

nu*Ps. 73:3.Efes. 4:26. te supăra, căci supărarea duce numai la rău!

9 Fiindcă*Iov 27:13,14. cei răi vor fi nimiciți,

iar cei ce nădăjduiesc în Domnul vor stăpâni*Vers. 11,22,29.Is. 57:13. țara.

10 Încă*Evr. 10:36,37. puțină vreme și cel rău nu va mai fi;

te vei*Iov 7:10;20:9. uita la locul unde era și nu va mai fi.

11 Cei*Mat. 5:5. blânzi moștenesc țara

și au belșug de pace.

12 Cel rău face la planuri împotriva celui neprihănit

și*Ps. 35:16. scrâșnește din dinți împotriva lui.

13 Domnul*Ps. 2:4. râde de cel rău,

căci vede că-i vine și lui ziua*1 Sam. 26:10..

14 Cei răi trag sabia și își încordează arcul,

ca să doboare pe cel nenorocit și sărac,

ca să înjunghie pe cei cu inima neprihănită.

15 Dar sabia*Mica 5:6. lor intră în însăși inima lor

și li se sfărâmă arcurile.

16 Mai*Prov. 15:16;16:8.1 Tim. 6:6. mult face puținul celui neprihănit

decât belșugul multor răi.

17 Căci brațele*Iov 38:15.Ps. 10:15.Ezec. 30:21. celui rău vor fi zdrobite,

dar Domnul sprijină pe cei neprihăniți.

18 Domnul*Ps. 1:6. cunoaște zilele oamenilor cinstiți

și moștenirea lor ține pe*Is. 60:21. vecie.

19 Ei nu rămân de rușine în ziua nenorocirii,

ci au de ajuns în*Iov 5:20.Ps. 33:19. zilele de foamete.

20 Dar cei răi pier

și vrăjmașii Domnului sunt ca cele mai frumoase pășuni:

pier, pier ca*Ps. 102:3. fumul.

21 Cel rău ia cu împrumut și nu dă înapoi,

dar cel neprihănit*Ps. 112:5,9. este milos și dă.

22 Căci*Prov. 3:33. cei binecuvântați de Domnul stăpânesc țara,

dar cei blestemați de El sunt*Vers. 9. nimiciți.

23 Domnul*1 Sam. 2:9.Prov. 16:9. întărește pașii omului

când Îi place calea lui;

24 dacă se*Ps. 34:19,20;40:2;91:12.Prov. 24:16.Mica 7:8.2 Cor. 4:9. întâmplă să cadă, nu este doborât de tot,

căci Domnul îl apucă de mână.

25 Am fost tânăr și am îmbătrânit, dar n-am văzut pe cel neprihănit părăsit,

nici pe urmașii lui cerșindu-și*Iov 15:23.Ps. 59:15;109:10. pâinea.

26 Ci el totdeauna*Deut. 15:8,10.Ps. 112:5,9. este milos și dă cu împrumut,

și urmașii lui sunt binecuvântați.

27 Depărtează-te*Ps. 34:14.Is. 1:16,17. de rău, fă binele

și vei dăinui pe vecie!

28 Căci Domnul iubește*Ps. 11:7. dreptatea

și nu părăsește pe credincioșii Lui.

Totdeauna ei sunt sub paza Lui,

dar*Ps. 21:10.Prov. 2:22.Is. 14:20. sămânța celor răi este nimicită.

29 Cei*Prov. 2:21. neprihăniți vor stăpâni țara

și vor locui în ea pe vecie.

30 Gura*Mat. 12:35. celui neprihănit vestește înțelepciunea

și limba lui trâmbițează dreptatea.

31 Legea*Deut. 6:6.Ps. 40:8;119:98.Is. 51:7. Dumnezeului său este în inima lui

și nu i se clatină pașii.

32 Cel rău pândește*Ps. 10:8. pe cel neprihănit

și caută să-l omoare,

33 dar Domnul nu-l lasă*2 Pet. 2:9. în mâinile lui

și nu-l osândește*Ps. 109:31. când vine la judecată.

34 Nădăjduiește*Ps. 27:14. Vers. 9.Prov. 20:22. în Domnul, păzește calea Lui,

și El te va înălța ca să stăpânești țara:

vei vedea pe cei răi nimiciți*Ps. 52:5,6;91:8..

35 Am văzut*Iov 5:3. pe cel rău în toată puterea lui;

se întindea ca un copac verde.

36 Dar când am trecut a doua oară, nu mai era*Iov 20:5. acolo;

l-am căutat, dar nu l-am mai putut găsi.

37 Uită-te bine la cel fără prihană și privește pe cel fără vicleșug,

căci omul*Is. 32:17;57:2. de pace are parte de moștenitori,

38 dar*Ps. 1:4;52:5. cei răzvrătiți sunt nimiciți cu toții,

sămânța celor răi este prăpădită.

39 Scăparea*Ps. 3:8. celor neprihăniți vine de la Domnul;

El este ocrotitorul lor la vremea necazului*Ps. 9:9..

40 Domnul îi*Is. 31:5. ajută și-i izbăvește;

îi izbăvește de cei răi și-i scapă,

pentru că*1 Cron. 5:20.Dan. 3:17,28;6:23. se încred în El.
