1 Give ear to my words, O Jehovah,

Consider my meditation.

2 Hearken unto the voice of my cry, my King, and my God;

For unto thee do I pray.

3 O Jehovah, in the morning shalt thou hear my voice;

In the morning will I order my prayer unto thee, and will keep watch.

4 For thou art not a God that hath pleasure in wickedness:

Evil shall not sojourn with thee.

5 The arrogant shall not stand in thy sight:

Thou hatest all workers of iniquity.

6 Thou wilt destroy them that speak lies:

Jehovah abhorreth the blood-thirsty and deceitful man.

7 But as for me, in the abundance of thy lovingkindness will I come into thy house:

In thy fear will I worship toward thy holy temple.

8 Lead me, O Jehovah, in thy righteousness because of mine enemies;

Make thy way straight before my face.

9 For there is no faithfulness in their mouth;

Their inward part is very wickedness;

Their throat is an open sepulchre;

They flatter with their tongue.

10 Hold them guilty, O God;

Let them fall by their own counsels;

Thrust them out in the multitude of their transgressions;

For they have rebelled against thee.

11 But let all those that take refuge in thee rejoice,

Let them ever shout for joy, because thou defendest them:

Let them also that love thy name be joyful in thee.

12 For thou wilt bless the righteous;

O Jehovah, thou wilt compass him with favor as with a shield.

Un psalm al lui David

1 Pleacă-Ți urechea la cuvintele mele, Doamne!

Ascultă suspinele mele!

2 Ia aminte la strigătele*Ps. 3:4. mele, Împăratul meu și Dumnezeul meu,

căci către Tine mă rog*Ps. 65:2.!

3 Doamne, auzi-mi glasul*Ps. 30:5;88:13;130:6. dimineața!

Dimineața, eu îmi îndrept rugăciunea spre Tine și aștept.

4 Căci Tu nu ești un Dumnezeu căruia să-I placă răul;

cel rău nu poate locui lângă Tine.

5 Nebunii*Hab. 1:13. nu pot să stea în preajma ochilor Tăi;

Tu urăști pe cei ce fac fărădelegea

6 și pierzi*Apoc. 21:8. pe cei mincinoși;

Domnul urăște pe oamenii*Ps. 55:23. care varsă sânge și înșală.

7 Dar eu, prin îndurarea Ta cea mare, pot să intru în casa Ta

și să mă închin cu frică în Templul Tău cel sfânt*1 Împ. 8:29,30,35,38.Ps. 28:2;132:7;138:2..

8 Doamne, călăuzește-mă*Ps. 25:5. pe calea plăcută Ție, din pricina vrăjmașilor mei!

Netezește*Ps. 25:4;27:11. calea Ta sub pașii mei!

9 Căci nu este nimic adevărat în gura lor;

inima le este plină de răutate,

gâtlejul*Luca 11:44.Rom. 3:13. le este un mormânt deschis

și pe limbă au vorbe lingușitoare*Ps. 62:4..

10 Lovește-i ca pe niște vinovați, Dumnezeule!

Fă-i să cadă prin înseși sfaturile*2 Sam. 15:31;17:14,23. lor!

Prăbușește-i în mijlocul păcatelor lor fără număr,

căci se răzvrătesc împotriva Ta!

11 Atunci, toți cei ce se încred în Tine se vor bucura*Is. 65:13.,

se vor veseli totdeauna, căci Tu îi vei ocroti.

Tu vei fi bucuria

celor ce iubesc Numele Tău.

12 Căci Tu binecuvântezi*Ps. 115:13. pe cel neprihănit, Doamne,

și-l înconjori cu bunăvoința Ta cum l-ai înconjura cu un scut.
