36 Then comes Jesus with them to a place named Gethsemane, and says to his disciples, Be seated here, while I go over there for prayer.
37 And he took with him Peter and the two sons of Zebedee, and became sad and very troubled.
38 Then says he to them, My soul is very sad, even to death: keep watch with me here.
39 And he went forward a little, and falling down on his face in prayer, he said, O my Father, if it is possible, let this cup go from me; but let not my pleasure, but yours be done.
40 And he comes to the disciples, and sees that they are sleeping, and says to Peter, What, were you not able to keep watch with me one hour?
41 Keep watch with prayer, so that you may not be put to the test: the spirit truly is ready, but the flesh is feeble.
42 Again, a second time he went away, and said in prayer, O my Father, if this may not go from me without my taking it, let your pleasure be done.
43 And he came again and saw them sleeping, for their eyes were tired.
44 And he went away from them again, and a third time said the same prayer.
45 Then he comes to the disciples; and says to them, Go on sleeping now, and take your rest: for the hour is come, and the Son of man is given into the hands of evil men.
46 Up, let us be going: see, he who gives me up is near.
36 Atunci Isus a venit cu ei într'un loc îngrădit, numit Ghetsimani, şi a zis ucenicilor: ,,Şedeţi aici pînă Mă voi duce colo să Mă rog.
37 A luat cu El pe Petru şi pe cei doi fii ai lui Zebedei, şi a început să Se întristeze şi să se mîhnească foarte tare.
38 Isus le -a zis atunci: ,,Sufletul Meu este cuprins de o întristare de moarte; rămîneţi aici, şi vegheaţi împreună cu Mine.
39 Apoi a mers puţin mai înainte, a căzut cu faţa la pămînt, şi S'a rugat, zicînd: ,,Tată, dacă este cu putinţă, depărtează dela Mine paharul acesta! Totuş nu cum voiesc Eu, ci cum voieşti Tu.
40 Apoi a venit la ucenici, i -a găsit dormind, şi a zis lui Petru: ,,Ce, un ceas n'aţi putut să vegheaţi împreună cu Mine!
41 Vegheaţi şi rugaţi-vă, ca să nu cădeţi în ispită; duhul, în adevăr, este plin de rîvnă, dar carnea este neputincioasă.
42 S'a depărtat a doua oară, şi S'a rugat, zicînd: ,,Tată, dacă nu se poate să se îndepărteze de Mine paharul acesta, fără să -l beau, facă-se voia Ta!
43 S'a întors iarăş la ucenici, şi i -a găsit dormind; pentrucă li se îngreuiaseră ochii de somn.
44 I -a lăsat din nou, S'a depărtat, şi S'a rugat a treia oară, zicînd aceleaşi cuvinte.
45 Apoi a venit la ucenici, şi le -a zis: ,,Dormiţi de acum şi odihniţi-vă!.. Iată că a venit ceasul ca Fiul omului să fie dat în mînile păcătoşilor.
46 Sculaţi-vă, haidem să mergem; iată că se apropie vînzătorul.
