1 Todo aquele que crê que Jesus é o Cristo, é nascido de Deus; e todo aquele que ama aquele que o gerou, também ama ao que dele foi gerado.2 Nisto sabemos que amamos os filhos de Deus, quando amamos a Deus e guardamos os seus mandamentos.3 Porque este é o amor de Deus: que guardemos os seus mandamentos; e os seus mandamentos não são pesados.4 Porque todo o que é nascido de Deus vence o mundo; e esta é a vitória que vence o mundo, a nossa fé.5 Quem é o que vence o mundo, senão aquele que crê que Jesus é o Filho de Deus?6 Este é aquele que veio por água e sangue, a saber, Jesus Cristo; não apenas por água, mas por água e por sangue. E o Espírito é o que testifica, porque o Espírito é a verdade.7 Porque três são os que dão testemunho no céu: o Pai, a Palavra, e o Espírito Santo; e estes três são um.8 E três são os que testificam na terra: o Espírito, e a água, e o sangue; e estes três concordam em um.9 Se recebemos o testemunho dos homens, o testemunho de Deus é maior; porque este é o testemunho de Deus, que ele testificou de seu Filho.10 Aquele que crê no Filho de Deus tem em si mesmo o testemunho; aquele que não crê em Deus faz dele um mentiroso, porquanto não crê no testemunho que Deus deu de seu Filho.11 E este é o testemunho: que Deus nos deu a vida eterna; e esta vida está em seu Filho.12 Aquele que tem o Filho tem a vida; e aquele que não tem o Filho de Deus não tem a vida.13 Estas coisas escrevi a vós que credes em o nome do Filho de Deus, a fim de que saibais que tendes a vida eterna, e para que creiais em o nome do Filho de Deus.14 E esta é a confiança que temos nele, que se pedirmos alguma coisa, conforme a sua vontade, ele nos ouve.15 E se sabemos que ele nos ouve, em tudo o que pedimos, sabemos que temos as petições que dele desejamos.16 Se alguém vir o seu irmão pecar um pecado que não seja para morte, deverá orar, e Deus dará vida àquele cujo pecado não é para morte. Há um pecado que leva à morte, eu não digo que se deve orar por este.17 Toda a injustiça é pecado, e há pecado que não é para morte.18 Sabemos que todo aquele que é nascido de Deus não peca; mas o que é gerado por Deus guarda-se a si mesmo, e o maligno não lhe toca.19 E nós sabemos que somos de Deus, e que todo o mundo jaz no maligno.20 E sabemos que o Filho de Deus veio, e nos deu um entendimento, que podemos conhecer aquele que é verdadeiro; e nós estamos naquele que é verdadeiro, ou seja, em seu Filho Jesus Cristo. Este é o verdadeiro Deus, e a vida eterna.21 Filhinhos, guardai-vos dos ídolos. Amém.

1 Whoever believes that Jesus is the Christ is born from God, and everyone who loves Him who begets also loves him who is begotten from Him.2 By this we know that we love the children of God, when we love God and keep His commandments.3 For this is the love of God, that we keep His commandments. And His commandments are not burdensome.4 For whatever is born from God overcomes the world. And this is the victory that has overcome the world; our faith.5 Who is he who overcomes the world, but he who believes that Jesus is the Son of God.6 This is He who came through water and blood; Jesus Christ; not only by water, but by water and blood. And it is the Spirit who bears witness, because the Spirit is truth.7 For there are three that bear witness in Heaven: the Father, the Word, and the Holy Spirit; and these three are one.8 And there are three that bear witness on earth: the Spirit, the water, and the blood; and the three are into one.9 If we receive the testimony of men, the testimony of God is greater; for this is the testimony of God which He has witnessed about His Son.10 He who believes in the Son of God has the testimony in himself; he who does not believe God has made Him a liar, because he has not believed the testimony that God has given concerning His Son.11 And this is the testimony: that God has given us eternal life, and this life is in His Son.12 He who has the Son has life; he who does not have the Son of God does not have life.13 These things I have written to you who believe in the name of the Son of God, that you may know that you have eternal life, and that you may continue to believe in the name of the Son of God.14 Now this is the confidence that we have in Him, that if we ask anything according to His will, He hears us.15 And if we know that He hears us, whatever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we have asked from Him.16 If anyone sees his brother sinning a sin not unto death, he shall ask, and He will give him life for those who commit sin not unto death. There is sin unto death. I do not say that he should ask about that.17 All unrighteousness is sin, and there is sin not unto death.18 We know that whoever is born of God does not sin; but he who has been born of God keeps himself, and the evil does not touch him.19 We know that we are of God, and the whole world lies in wickedness.20 And we know that the Son of God has come and has given us an understanding, that we may know Him who is true; and we are in Him who is true, in His Son Jesus Christ. This is the true God and eternal life.21 Little children, keep yourselves away from idols. Amen.
