1 E, quando a rainha de Sabá ouviu sobre a fama de Salomão, a respeito do nome do SENHOR, ela veio para prová-lo com perguntas difíceis.2 E ela veio até Jerusalém com uma comitiva mui grande, com camelos que carregavam especiarias, e muitíssimo ouro, e pedras preciosas; e, quando chegou diante de Salomão, ela conversou com ele sobre tudo o que estava no seu coração.3 E Salomão respondeu-lhe sobre todas as suas perguntas; não houve coisa alguma ocultada da parte do rei, da qual ele não lhe tenha contado.4 E, quando a rainha de Sabá viu toda a sabedoria de Salomão, e a casa que ele havia edificado,5 e o alimento da sua mesa, e o assentar dos seus servos, e o atendimento dos seus ministros, e as suas vestes, e os seus copeiros, e a sua subida, pela qual ele subia até a casa do SENHOR; não houve nela mais espírito.6 E ela disse ao rei: Foi um relato verdadeiro que ouvi na minha própria terra dos teus atos e da tua sabedoria.7 Todavia eu não cria nas palavras, até que vim, e os meus olhos o viram e, eis que nem a metade me havia sido contada; a tua sabedoria e prosperidade excedem a fama que ouvi.8 Felizes são os teus homens, são os teus servos, os quais estão sempre de pé diante de ti, e que ouvem a tua sabedoria.9 Bendito seja o SENHOR teu Deus, que em ti se deleita, para te colocar no trono de Israel; porque o SENHOR amou Israel para sempre, por isso te fez rei, para fazer juízo e justiça.10 E ela deu ao rei cento e vinte talentos de ouro, e uma provisão mui grande de especiarias, e pedras preciosas; nunca mais ali chegou tal abundância de especiarias como estas que a rainha de Sabá deu ao rei Salomão.11 E também a armada de Hirão, que trouxe ouro de Ofir, trouxe de Ofir grande abundância de árvores de almugue, e pedras preciosas.12 E o rei fez das árvores de almugue pilares para a casa do SENHOR, e para a casa do rei, também harpas e saltérios para cantores; nunca chegou ali árvores de almugue semelhantes, tampouco foram vistas até este dia.13 E o rei Salomão deu à rainha de Sabá todo o seu desejo, tudo o que ela pediu, além daquilo que Salomão lhe deu da sua dádiva real. Assim, ela se volveu e foi para a sua própria terra com os seus servos.14 Ora, o peso do ouro que veio até Salomão em um ano era de seiscentos e sessenta e seis talentos de ouro,15 fora aquilo que ele tinha dos mercadores, e da circulação dos mercadores de especiarias, e de todos os reis da Arábia, e dos governadores da terra.16 E o rei Salomão fez duzentos broquéis de ouro batido; seiscentos shekels de ouro iam para um broquel.17 E ele fez trezentos escudos de ouro batido; trezentas libras de ouro iam para cada escudo; e o rei os pôs na casa da floresta do Líbano.18 Além disso, o rei fez um grande trono de marfim, e o revestiu com o melhor ouro.19 O trono tinha seis degraus, e o topo do trono era redondo por trás; e havia apoios nos dois lados do lugar do assento, e dois leões de pé ao lado dos apoios.20 E doze leões de pé, de um lado e de outro lado sobre os seis degraus; nada semelhante havia em nenhum reino.21 E todos os vasos de bebida do rei Salomão eram de ouro, e todos os vasos da casa da floresta do Líbano eram de ouro puro; nenhum era de prata; esta não era valorizada nos dias de Salomão.22 Porquanto o rei tinha ao mar uma armada de Társis com a armada de Hirão; uma vez a cada três anos a armada vinha de Társis, trazendo ouro, e prata, marfim, e bugios, e pavões.23 Assim, o rei Salomão excedeu todos os reis da terra tanto em riqueza, como em sabedoria.24 E toda a terra procurava Salomão, para ouvir a sua sabedoria, a qual Deus havia posto em seu coração.25 E cada homem trazia o seu presente, vasos de prata, e vasos de ouro, e vestes, e armadura, e especiarias, cavalos e mulas, uma proporção ano a ano.26 E Salomão reuniu carruagens e cavaleiros; e ele tinha mil e quatrocentas carruagens, e doze mil cavaleiros, os quais posicionou nas cidades das carruagens; e junto ao rei em Jerusalém.27 E fez o rei que em Jerusalém houvesse prata, como pedras, e cedros ele fez em abundância para serem como os sicômoros que estão no vale.28 E Salomão teve cavalos e fios de linho trazidos do Egito, os mercadores do rei receberam o fio de linho no preço.29 E uma carruagem subia e saía do Egito por seiscentos shekels de prata, e um cavalo por cento e cinquenta; e assim para todos os reis dos heteus, e para os reis da Síria, eles os retiravam pelos seus meios.
1 Now when the queen of Sheba heard of the fame of Solomon concerning the name of Jehovah, she came to test him with hard questions.2 She came to Jerusalem with a very great company, with camels bearing spices, very much gold, and precious stones; and when she came to Solomon, she spoke with him about all that was on her heart.3 And Solomon made known all her matters; there was nothing so difficult for the king that he could not explain it to her.4 And when the queen of Sheba saw all the wisdom of Solomon, the house that he had built,5 the food of his table, the seating of his servants, the service of his waiters and their apparel, his cupbearers, and his ascent by which he went up to the house of Jehovah, it took her breath away.6 Then she said to the king: It was a true word which I heard in my own land about your words and your wisdom.7 However I did not believe the words until I came and saw with my own eyes; and behold, the half was not told me. Your wisdom and prosperity exceed the fame of which I have heard.8 Happy are your men and happy are these your servants, who stand continually before you and hear your wisdom!9 Blessed is Jehovah your God, who has delighted in you, setting you on the throne of Israel! Because of Jehovahs eternal love for Israel, therefore He made you king, to execute justice and righteousness.10 And she gave the king one hundred and twenty talents of gold, spices in great quantity, and precious stones. There never again came such abundance of spices as the queen of Sheba gave to King Solomon.11 And the ships of Hiram, which brought gold from Ophir, also brought great quantities of almug wood and precious stones from Ophir.12 And the king made pillars of the almug wood for the house of Jehovah and for the kings house, and harps and lutes for the singers. There never again came such almug wood, nor has the like been seen to this day.13 And King Solomon gave to the queen of Sheba all her desire, whatever she asked, besides what Solomon had given to her according to the hand of the king. So she turned and went to her own land, she and her servants.14 The weight of gold that came to Solomon in one year was six hundred and sixty-six talents of gold,15 besides that from the traveling merchants, from the income of traders, from all the kings of Arabia, and from the governors of the land.16 And King Solomon made two hundred shields of hammered gold; six hundred shekels of gold went into each shield.17 He also made three hundred shields of hammered gold; three minas of gold went into each shield. The king put them in the house of the Forest of Lebanon.18 Moreover the king made a great throne of ivory, and overlaid it with pure gold.19 The throne had six steps, and the top of the throne was round at the back; there were armrests on either side of the place of the seat, and two lions stood beside the armrests.20 Twelve lions were standing there, one on each side of the six steps; nothing like this had been made for any other kingdom.21 All King Solomons drinking vessels were gold, and all the vessels of the house of the Forest of Lebanon were pure gold. Not one was silver, for this was accounted as nothing in the days of Solomon.22 For the king had a fleet of ships at sea from Tarshish along with the fleet of Hiram; and once every three years the ships from Tarshish came bringing gold, silver, ivory, apes, and peacocks.23 Thus King Solomon surpassed all the kings of the earth in riches and wisdom.24 And all the earth was seeking the presence of Solomon to hear his wisdom, which God had put into his heart.25 Each man was bringing his present: articles of silver and gold, garments, armor, spices, horses, and mules, at a set rate year by year.26 And Solomon gathered chariots and horsemen; he had one thousand four hundred chariots and twelve thousand horsemen, whom he stationed in the chariot cities and with the king in Jerusalem.27 The king made silver as common in Jerusalem as stones, and he made cedar trees as abundant as the sycamores which are in the lowland.28 Also Solomon had horses imported from Egypt and Mikveh; the kings merchants got them at Mikveh for a price.29 Now a chariot that came up out from Egypt was six hundred shekels of silver, and a horse one hundred and fifty; and thus, by their hand, they exported them to all the kings of the Hittites and the kings of Syria.
