1 Esta é a terceira vez que estou indo até vós. Por boca de duas ou três testemunhas toda a palavra será estabelecida.2 Eu vos disse anteriormente e vos predigo, como quando estava presente, uma segunda vez; e, estando ausente agora, eu escrevo aos que antes pecaram e a todos os outros, que, se for novamente, não lhes pouparei;3 Uma vez que buscais uma prova de Cristo que fala em mim, o qual não é fraco para convosco, mas é poderoso entre vós.4 Porque apesar de ter sido crucificado na fraqueza, contudo vive pelo poder de Deus. Porque nós também somos fracos nele, mas viveremos com ele pelo poder de Deus em vós.5 Examinai-vos a vós mesmos se estais na fé; provai-vos a vós mesmos. Ou não vos conheceis a vós mesmos, de que Jesus Cristo está em vós? A menos que estejais reprovados.6 Mas espero que saibais que nós não somos reprovados.7 Ora, eu rogo a Deus que não façais nenhum mal, não para que nós pareçamos aprovados, mas para que vós façais o que é honesto, embora nós sejamos como reprovados.8 Porque nada podemos fazer contra a verdade, senão pela verdade.9 Porque nos alegramos quando estamos fracos, e vós estais fortes; e desejamos também por isto, a vossa perfeição.10 Portanto, eu escrevo estas coisas estando ausente, para que, estando presente, não use de severidade, segundo o poder que o Senhor me tem dado para a edificação, e não para a destruição.11 Finalmente, irmãos, adeus. Sede perfeitos, sede de bom conforto, sede de uma só mente, vivei em paz, e o Deus de amor e de paz será convosco.12 Saudai-vos uns aos outros com um beijo santo.13 Todos os santos vos saúdam.14 A graça do Senhor Jesus Cristo, e o amor de Deus, e a comunhão do Espírito Santo sejam com todos vós. 1 This will be the third time I am coming to you. By the mouth of two or three witnesses every word shall be established.2 I have told you before, and foretell as if I were present the second time, and now being absent I write to those who have sinned before, and to all the rest, that if I come again I will not spare;3 since you seek a proof of Christ speaking in me, who is not weak toward you, but mighty in you.4 For though He was crucified out of weakness, yet He lives by the power of God. For we also are weak in Him, but we shall live with Him by the power of God toward you.5 Examine yourselves as to whether you are in the faith. Test yourselves. Do you not know, yourselves, that Jesus Christ is in you; unless indeed you are ones failing the test?6 But I hope that you will know that we are not ones failing the test.7 Now I pray to God that you do no evil, not that we should appear acceptable, but that you should do what is honorable, even though we may seem to be unacceptable.8 For we have no power against the truth, but on behalf of truth.9 For we rejoice when we are weak and you are strong. And this also we pray, that you may be made complete.10 Therefore I write these things being absent, that when present I should not use sharpness, according to the authority which the Lord has given me for building up and not for pulling down.11 Finally, brethren, rejoice. Become complete. Be encouraged, be of one mind, be at peace; and the God of love and peace will be with you.12 Greet one another with a holy kiss.13 All the saints greet you.14 The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit be with you all.
