1 Assim, foi terminada toda a obra que Salomão fez para a casa do SENHOR; e Salomão trouxe para dentro todas as coisas que Davi, o seu pai consagrou; e a prata, e o ouro, e todos os instrumentos, ele colocou entre os tesouros da casa de Deus.2 Então, Salomão reuniu em Jerusalém os anciãos de Israel, e todos os cabeças das tribos, os chefes dos pais dos filhos de Israel, para fazer subir a arca do pacto do SENHOR da cidade de Davi, que é Sião.3 Porquanto todos os homens de Israel se reuniram diante do rei na festa, que era no sétimo mês.4 E todos os anciãos de Israel vieram, e os levitas ergueram a arca.5 E trouxeram a arca e o tabernáculo da congregação, e todos os vasos sagrados que estavam no tabernáculo, e os sacerdotes e os levitas é que os fizeram subir.6 Então o rei Salomão, e toda a congregação de Israel, que estava reunida a ele diante da arca, sacrificaram ovelhas e bois, os quais não podiam ser contados ou enumerados por causa da sua multidão.7 E os sacerdotes trouxeram para dentro a arca do pacto do SENHOR até o seu lugar, ao oráculo da casa, ao lugar santíssimo, bem debaixo das asas dos querubins;8 porque os querubins estendiam as suas asas sobre o lugar da arca, e os querubins cobriam, pelo alto, a arca e as suas hastes.9 E eles removeram as hastes da arca, de forma que as extremidades das hastes eram vistas da arca na frente do oráculo; mas elas não eram vistas na parte de fora. E ali ela está até este dia.10 Não havia nada na arca, salvo as duas tábuas que Moisés colocou nela em Horebe, quando o SENHOR fez um pacto com os filhos de Israel, quando eles saíram do Egito.11 E sucedeu que, quando os sacerdotes saíram do santo lugar; (pois todos os sacerdotes que estavam presentes foram santificados, e, portanto, não observaram a sua equipe;12 também os levitas que eram os cantores, todos de Asafe, de Hemã, de Jedutum, com os seus filhos e seus irmãos, estando vestidos em linho branco, tendo címbalos e saltérios e harpas, ficaram na extremidade leste do altar, e com eles cento e vinte sacerdotes soando trombetas);13 sucedeu que, enquanto os trombeteiros e os cantores eram como um, para fazer um som para ser ouvido em louvor e gratidão ao SENHOR; e levantando eles a voz com trombetas, címbalos, e com outros instrumentos musicais, e louvaram ao SENHOR, dizendo: Pois ele é bom; porque a sua misericórdia dura para sempre; que, então, a casa foi enchida por uma nuvem, a saber, a casa do SENHOR;14 de tal modo que os sacerdotes não conseguiam ficar de pé para ministrar em razão da nuvem; pois a glória do SENHOR encheu a casa de Deus.

1 Thus all the work that Solomon had done for the house of Jehovah was finished; and Solomon brought in the things which his father David had consecrated: the silver and the gold and all the articles. And he put them in the treasuries of the house of God.2 And Solomon assembled the elders of Israel and all the heads of the tribes, the chief fathers of the children of Israel, to Jerusalem, to bring the ark of the covenant of Jehovah up from the City of David, which is Zion.3 And all the men of Israel assembled to the king for the feast, which was in the seventh month.4 And all the elders of Israel came, and the Levites took up the ark.5 And they brought up the ark, the tent of meeting, and all the holy vessels that were in the tent; the priests, the Levites, brought them up.6 Also King Solomon, and all the congregation of Israel who were assembled with him before the ark, were sacrificing sheep and oxen that could not be counted or numbered for multitude.7 And the priests brought in the ark of the covenant of Jehovah to its place, into the inner sanctuary of the house, to the Holy of Holies, under the wings of the cherubim.8 For the cherubim spread out their wings over the place of the ark, and the cherubim covered over the ark and its poles from above.9 And the poles were long enough that the ends of the poles of the ark could be seen from in front of the inner sanctuary; but they could not be seen from outside. And they are there to this day.10 Nothing was in the ark except the two tablets which Moses had put there at Horeb, when Jehovah had made a covenant with the children of Israel, when they came out of Egypt.11 And it came to pass when the priests came out of the sanctuary (for all the priests who were present had consecrated themselves, without observing their divisions),12 and the Levites who were singing, all those of Asaph and Heman and Jeduthun, with their sons and their brethren, were standing to the east of the altar, clothed in white linen, having cymbals, lutes and harps, and with them one hundred and twenty priests sounding the trumpets;13 and those sounding the trumpets and those singing were as one, with one sound to be heard in praising and thanking Jehovah, to raise their voices with the trumpets and cymbals and instruments of song, to praise Jehovah, saying: For He is good, for His mercy is eternal; that the house, the house of Jehovah, was filled with a cloud,14 so that the priests could not remain standing to serve before the cloud; for the glory of Jehovah had filled the house of God.
