1 Se vires extraviado o boi do teu irmão, ou a sua ovelha, não te desinteressarás deles; de qualquer maneira, os trará de volta ao teu irmão.2 E se teu irmão não estiver perto de ti, ou se não o conheceres, então trarás ele à tua própria casa, e estará contigo até que teu irmão o busque, e o restituirás a ele.3 De igual maneira, farás com o seu jumento; e o mesmo farás com a sua veste; e com todas as coisas perdidas de teu irmão, que ele tiver perdido, e que encontrares, farás do mesmo modo; não podes esconder-te.4 Não verás o jumento de teu irmão, ou o seu boi caídos pelo caminho, e não te esconderás deles; certamente o ajudarás a levantá-los outra vez.5 A mulher não vestirá aquilo que pertence a um homem, e um homem não vestirá a veste de uma mulher; porque todos os que fazem isso são uma abominação para o SENHOR teu Deus.6 Se por acaso vires um ninho de ave no caminho, em uma árvore, ou no chão, quer sejam filhotes ou ovos, e a mãe sobre os filhotes, ou sobre os ovos, não pegarás a mãe com os filhotes,7 mas deixarás ir a mãe, e ficarás com os filhotes; para que te vá bem, e para que possas prolongar os teus dias.8 Quando edificares uma casa nova, farás um parapeito para o teu telhado, para que não tragas sangue sobre a tua casa, se algum homem cair de lá.9 Não semearás a tua vinha com sementes diferentes, para que o fruto da tua semente, que semeaste, e o fruto da tua vinha, não se contaminem.10 Não lavrarás com um boi e um jumento juntos.11 Não vestirás uma veste de tipos diferentes, como linho e lã juntos.12 Farás franjas para os quatro cantos da tua veste, com que te cobres.13 Se algum homem tomar uma esposa, e entrar a ela, e a odiar,14 e tiver oportunidade de falar contra ela, e lhe trouxer má reputação, e disser: Eu tomei esta mulher, e quando me cheguei a ela, descobri que não era virgem;15 então o pai da donzela e a sua mãe tomarão e apresentarão os sinais da virgindade da donzela aos anciãos da cidade, junto à porta,16 e o pai da donzela dirá aos anciãos: Dei minha filha a este homem como esposa, e ele a odeia;17 e eis que teve oportunidade de falar contra ela, dizendo: Não achei virgem a tua filha; mas estes são os sinais da virgindade de minha filha. E eles estenderão o pano diante dos anciãos da cidade.18 E os anciãos daquela cidade tomarão esse homem e o punirão;19 e o castigarão em cem shekels de prata, e os darão ao pai da donzela, porque ele trouxe má fama a uma virgem de Israel, e ela será sua esposa, e ele não poderá despedi-la em todos os seus dias.20 Mas se isto for verdade, e os sinais da virgindade não forem encontrados na donzela,21 então eles levarão a donzela até a porta da casa do seu pai, e os homens da sua cidade a apedrejarão com pedras, para que morra; porque ela fez tolice em Israel, agindo como prostituta na casa do seu pai; assim afastarás o mal do teu meio.22 Se um homem for encontrado deitado com uma mulher que tenha um marido, então ambos deverão morrer, tanto o homem que se deitou com a mulher, como a mulher; assim afastarás o mal de Israel.23 Se uma donzela que é virgem for prometida a um esposo, e um homem a encontrar na cidade, e se deitar com ela,24 então trareis a ambos à porta da cidade, e os apedrejareis com pedras, para que morram; a donzela, porque não gritou quando estava na cidade; e o homem, porque ele humilhou a esposa do seu próximo; assim afastarás o mal do vosso meio.25 Mas se um homem encontrar uma donzela prometida no campo, e o homem a forçar e se deitar com ela, então somente o homem que se deitar com ela morrerá;26 mas à donzela nada farás; não há na donzela nenhum pecado merecedor de morte; pois é como quando um homem se levanta contra o seu próximo e o mata. Assim é este caso,27 porque a achou no campo, e a donzela prometida gritou, e não houve ninguém que a salvasse.28 Se um homem encontrar uma donzela que é uma virgem, que não é prometida, e a tomar e se deitar com ela, e eles forem encontrados;29 então o homem que se deitou com ela dará ao pai da donzela cinquenta shekels de prata, e ela será sua esposa; porque ele a humilhou, não poderá despedi-la em todos os seus dias.30 Um homem não tomará a esposa do seu pai, nem descobrirá o manto do seu pai.

1 You shall not see your brother’s ox or his sheep going astray, and hide yourself from them; you shall turn them back to restore them to your brother.2 And if your brother is not near you, or if you do not know him, then you shall bring it to your own house, and it shall remain with you until your brother seeks for it; and you shall restore it to him.3 You shall do the same with his donkey, and so shall you do with his garment; with any lost thing of your brother’s, which he has lost and you have found, you shall do likewise; you cannot hide it.4 You shall not see your brother’s donkey or his ox fallen down along the road, and hide yourself from them; you shall help him lift it up to make it stand.5 A woman shall not wear anything that is fitting to a man, nor shall a man put on a woman’s garments, for all who do so are an abomination unto Jehovah your God.6 If a bird’s nest happens to be before you along the way, in any tree or on the ground, with young ones or eggs, with the mother sitting on the young or on the eggs, you shall not take the mother with the young;7 you shall let the mother go free, and take the young for yourself, that it may be well with you and that you may prolong your days.8 When you build a new house, then you shall make a railing for your roof, that you may not bring blood upon your house if anyone falls from it.9 You shall not sow your vineyard with different kinds of seed, that the yield of the seed which you have sown and the fruit of your vineyard not be defiled.10 You shall not plow with an ox and a donkey together.11 You shall not wear a garment of mixed fabric, such as wool and linen together.12 You shall make tassels on the four corners of the clothing with which you cover yourself.13 If any man takes a wife, and goes in to her, and hates her,14 and charges her with wantonness, and brings a bad name upon her, and says, I took this woman, and when I came to her I found she was not a virgin;15 then the father and mother of the young woman shall take and bring out the evidence of the young woman’s virginity to the elders of the city at the gate.16 And the young woman’s father shall say to the elders, I have given my daughter to this man as wife, and he hates her.17 And behold, he has charged her with wantonness, saying, I have found your daughter to not be a virgin, and yet these are the evidences of my daughter’s virginity. And they shall spread the cloth before the elders of the city.18 And the elders of that city shall take that man and chastise him;19 and they shall fine him one hundred shekels of silver and give them to the father of the young woman, because he has brought a bad name on a virgin of Israel. And she shall be his wife; he cannot put her away all his days.20 But if the thing is true, and evidence of virginity is not found for the young woman,21 then they shall bring out the young woman to the door of her father’s house, and the men of her city shall stone her to death with stones, because she has done a disgraceful thing in Israel, to commit harlotry in her father’s house. Thus you shall put away the evil from among you.22 If a man is found lying with a woman married to a husband, then both of them shall die; the man that lay with the woman, and the woman; thus you shall put away the evil from Israel.23 If a young woman who is a virgin is betrothed to a man, and a man finds her in the city and lies with her,24 then you shall bring them both out to the gate of that city, and you shall stone them to death with stones, the young woman because she did not cry out in the city, and the man because he has humbled his neighbor’s wife; thus you shall put away the evil from among you.25 But if a man finds a betrothed young woman in the field, and the man forces her and lies with her, then only the man who lay with her shall die.26 But you shall do nothing to the young woman; there is in the young woman no sin deserving of death, for just as when a man rises against his neighbor and kills him, even so is this matter;27 for he had found her in the field, and the betrothed young woman had cried out, but there was no one to deliver her.28 If a man finds a young woman who is a virgin, who is not betrothed, and he seizes her and lies with her, and they are found out,29 then the man who lay with her shall give to the young woman’s father fifty shekels of silver, and she shall be his wife because he has humbled her; he cannot put her away all his days.30 A man shall not take his father’s wife, nor uncover his father’s skirt.
