1 Por esta causa, eu, Paulo, sou o prisioneiro de Jesus Cristo por vós, os gentios,2 se é que tendes ouvido a dispensação da graça de Deus, que me é dada para convosco;3 como pela revelação ele fez-me saber este mistério (como vos escrevi antes, em poucas palavras,4 pelo que, quando ledes, podeis entender o meu conhecimento do mistério de Cristo).5 O qual, noutras épocas, não foi manifestado aos filhos dos homens, como, agora, tem sido revelado aos seus santos apóstolos e profetas pelo Espírito,6 a saber, que os gentios são coerdeiros, e de um mesmo corpo, e participantes da sua promessa em Cristo pelo evangelho;7 do qual fui feito ministro, segundo o dom da graça de Deus, dado a mim pela operação eficaz do seu poder.8 A mim, que sou menos que o mínimo de todos os santos, me foi dada esta graça de pregar entre os gentios as riquezas incompreensíveis de Cristo,9 e fazer com que todos vejam qual é a comunhão do mistério, que, desde o começo do mundo, esteve oculto em Deus, que criou todas as coisas por meio de Jesus Cristo;10 para que agora, os principados e potestades nos lugares celestiais possam conhecer, pela igreja, a multiforme sabedoria de Deus,11 segundo o eterno propósito que fez em Cristo Jesus, nosso Senhor,12 no qual temos ousadia e acesso com confiança, pela nossa fé nele.13 Portanto, vos peço que não desfaleçais nas minhas tribulações por vós, que são a vossa glória.14 Por causa disso, me ponho de joelhos perante o Pai de nosso Senhor Jesus Cristo,15 do qual toda a família nos céus e na terra toma o nome,16 para que vos conceda, segundo as riquezas da sua glória, que sejais fortalecidos com poder pelo seu Espírito no homem interior;17 para que Cristo habite no vosso coração pela fé; a fim de, estando arraigados e fundados em amor,18 possa ser capaz de compreender, com todos os santos, qual é a largura, e o comprimento, e a profundidade, e altura,19 e conhecer o amor de Cristo, que excede todo conhecimento, para que sejais cheios de toda a plenitude de Deus.20 Ora, àquele que é capaz de fazer tudo muito mais abundantemente além daquilo que pedimos ou pensamos, segundo o poder que em nós opera,21 a ele seja a glória na igreja, por Cristo Jesus, em todas as gerações, para sempre e sempre. 1 For this reason I, Paul, the prisoner of Christ Jesus for you Gentiles;2 if indeed you have heard of the dispensation of the grace of God which was given to me for you,3 how that by revelation He made known to me the mystery (as I have briefly written already,4 by which, when you read, you may understand my knowledge in the mystery of Christ),5 which in other ages was not made known to the sons of men, as it has now been revealed by the Spirit to His holy apostles and prophets:6 that the Gentiles should be fellow heirs, of the same body, and joint partakers of His promise in Christ through the gospel,7 of which I was made a minister according to the gift of the grace of God given to me by the effective working of His power.8 To me, who am less than the least of all the saints, this grace was given, that I should preach among the Gentiles the unsearchable riches of Christ,9 and to make all see what is the fellowship of the mystery, which from the beginning of the ages has been hidden in God who created all things through Jesus Christ;10 to the intent that now the manifold wisdom of God might be made known through the church to the rulers and authorities in the heavenlies,11 according to the eternal purpose which He accomplished in Christ Jesus our Lord,12 in whom we have boldness and access with confidence through His faith.13 Therefore I ask that you do not lose heart at my afflictions on your behalf, which is your glory.14 For this reason I bow my knees to the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ,15 of whom the whole family in Heaven and earth is named,16 that He would grant you, according to the riches of His glory, to be strengthened with might through His Spirit in the inner man,17 that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith; that you, being rooted and grounded in love,18 may be able to grasp with all the saints what is the width and length and depth and height;19 to know the surpassing knowledge and love of Christ; that you may be filled with all the fullness of God.20 Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us,21 to Him be glory in the church in Christ Jesus to all generations, forever and ever.
