1 E disse o SENHOR a Moisés: Trarei ainda mais uma praga sobre Faraó, e sobre o Egito. Depois disso, ele vos deixará ir daqui. Quando vos deixar ir, ele certamente vos expulsará daqui completamente.2 Fala agora aos ouvidos do povo, e que todo homem peça de seu vizinho, e toda mulher de sua vizinha, joias de prata e joias de ouro.3 E o SENHOR deu favor ao povo à vista dos egípcios. Além disso, o homem Moisés era muito grande na terra do Egito, à vista dos servos de Faraó, e à vista do povo.4 E Moisés disse: Assim diz o SENHOR: À meia-noite sairei no meio dos egípcios,5 e todo primogênito na terra do Egito morrerá, desde o primogênito de Faraó que está assentado sobre o seu trono, até mesmo o primogênito da serva que está atrás do moinho, e todos os primogênitos dos animais.6 E haverá grande clamor em toda a terra do Egito, como nunca houve, nem jamais haverá.7 Mas contra qualquer dos filhos de Israel, nem mesmo um cão moverá sua língua, contra homem ou animal, para que saibais que o SENHOR faz diferença entre os egípcios e Israel.8 E todos estes teus servos descerão a mim, e se curvarão diante de mim, dizendo: Sai tu, e todo o povo que te segue. E depois disso eu sairei. E ele saiu da presença de Faraó com grande ira.9 E disse o SENHOR a Moisés: Faraó não vos ouvirá, para que as minhas maravilhas se multipliquem na terra do Egito.10 E Moisés e Arão fizeram todas essas maravilhas diante de Faraó; e o SENHOR endureceu o coração de Faraó, para que não deixasse os filhos de Israel sair de sua terra.

1 And Jehovah said unto Moses, I will bring yet one more plague upon Pharaoh and upon Egypt. Afterward he will let you go from here. When he lets you go, he will be driving to drive you out from here.2 Speak now in the ears of the people, and let every man ask from his neighbor and every woman from her neighbor, articles of silver and articles of gold.3 And Jehovah gave the people favor in the eyes of the Egyptians. Moreover the man Moses was very great in the land of Egypt, in the eyes of Pharaoh’s servants and in the eyes of the people.4 And Moses said, Thus says Jehovah: About midnight I will go out into the midst of Egypt;5 and every firstborn in the land of Egypt shall die, from the firstborn of Pharaoh who sits on his throne, even to the firstborn of the female servant who is behind the mill, and every firstborn of the animals.6 And there shall be a great cry throughout all the land of Egypt, such as was not like it before, nor shall be like it again.7 But against the children of Israel shall not a single dog move its tongue, against man or beast, that you may know that Jehovah makes a separation between Egypt and Israel.8 And all these your servants shall come down to me and prostrate themselves to me, saying, Get out, you and all the people at your feet! After that I will go out. And he went out from Pharaoh in burning anger.9 And Jehovah said to Moses, Pharaoh will not heed you, so that My signs may be multiplied in the land of Egypt.10 And Moses and Aaron did all these signs before Pharaoh; and Jehovah hardened Pharaoh’s heart, and he did not let the children of Israel go out of his land.
