1 E ele disse a Moisés: Sobe ao SENHOR, tu, e Arão, Nadabe, e Abiú, e setenta dos anciãos de Israel, e adorai de longe.2 E somente Moisés se aproximará do SENHOR, mas eles não se aproximarão, nem subirá o povo com ele.3 E Moisés veio e disse ao povo todas as palavras do SENHOR, e todos os juízos. E todo o povo respondeu a uma voz e disse: Todas as palavras que o SENHOR disse nós faremos.4 E Moisés escreveu todas as palavras do SENHOR, e levantou-se de manhã cedo e construiu um altar sob o monte, e doze pilares, segundo as doze tribos de Israel.5 E ele enviou jovens dos filhos de Israel, que ofereceram ofertas queimadas, e sacrificaram ofertas pacíficas de bois ao SENHOR.6 E Moisés tomou metade do sangue, e o colocou em bacias; e metade do sangue aspergiu sobre o altar.7 E ele tomou o livro do pacto e o leu aos ouvidos do povo, e eles disseram: Tudo que o SENHOR tem dito faremos, e seremos obedientes.8 E Moisés tomou o sangue e o aspergiu sobre o povo, e disse: Eis aqui o sangue do pacto que o SENHOR fez convosco a respeito de todas estas palavras.9 Então subiram Moisés, e Arão, Nadabe, e Abiú, e setenta dos anciãos de Israel,10 e viram o Deus de Israel, e havia debaixo de seus pés como trabalho pavimentado de pedra de safira, e como o corpo do céu na sua clareza.11 E sobre os nobres dos filhos de Israel ele não colocou a sua mão; eles também viram a Deus, e comeram e beberam.12 E disse o SENHOR a Moisés: Sobe a mim no monte, e fique ali; e dar-te-ei tábuas de pedra, e a lei, e os mandamentos que escrevi, para que os ensines.13 E Moisés subiu, e seu ajudante Josué. E Moisés subiu ao monte de Deus.14 E disse aos anciãos: Esperai por nós aqui, até que voltemos a vós; e eis que Arão e Hur estão convosco. Se algum homem tiver qualquer negócio a fazer, achegue-se a eles.15 E Moisés subiu ao monte, e uma nuvem cobriu o monte.16 E a glória do SENHOR habitou sobre o monte Sinai, e a nuvem o cobriu seis dias; e ao sétimo dia ele chamou Moisés do meio da nuvem.17 E a visão da glória do SENHOR era como fogo consumidor no cume do monte aos olhos dos filhos de Israel.18 E Moisés entrou no meio da nuvem, depois que subiu ao monte; e Moisés esteve no monte quarenta dias e quarenta noites.

1 And He said to Moses, Come up to Jehovah, you and Aaron, Nadab and Abihu, and seventy of the elders of Israel, and prostrate yourselves from a distance.2 And Moses alone shall approach Jehovah, but they shall not approach; nor shall the people go up with him.3 And Moses came and told the people all the words of Jehovah and all the judgments. And all the people answered with one voice and said, All the words which Jehovah has spoken we will do.4 And Moses wrote all the Words of Jehovah. And he arose early in the morning, and built an altar at the base of the mountain, and twelve pillars according to the twelve tribes of Israel.5 And he sent young men of the sons of Israel, who offered burnt offerings and slaughtered oxen for sacrifices of peace unto Jehovah.6 And Moses took half the blood and put it in basins, and half the blood he sprinkled on the altar.7 And he took the Book of the Covenant and read in the ears of the people. And they said, All that Jehovah has spoken we will do and obey.8 And Moses took the blood, sprinkled it on the people, and said, This is the blood of the covenant which Jehovah has made with you according to all these words.9 And Moses went up, along with Aaron, Nadab, and Abihu, and seventy of the elders of Israel,10 and they saw the God of Israel. And there was under His feet as it were a paved work of sapphire stone, and it was like the essence of the heavens in its clarity.11 And He did not let loose His hand against the nobles of the children of Israel. And they saw God, and they ate and drank.12 And Jehovah said unto Moses, Come up to Me on the mountain and be there; and I will give you tablets of stone, and the Law and commandments which I have written, to teach them.13 And Moses arose with Joshua who ministered, and Moses went up to the mountain of God.14 And he said to the elders, Wait here for us until we return to you. Behold, Aaron and Hur, who are rulers, are with you. Whoever has a matter, let him go to them.15 And Moses went up into the mountain, and a cloud covered the mountain.16 And the glory of Jehovah settled down upon Mount Sinai, and the cloud covered it six days. And on the seventh day He summoned Moses out of the midst of the cloud.17 The appearance of the glory of Jehovah was like a consuming fire on the top of the mountain before the eyes of the children of Israel.18 And Moses went into the midst of the cloud and went up into the mountain. And Moses was on the mountain forty days and forty nights.
