1 Então disse o SENHOR a Moisés: Vai à presença de Faraó, e dize-lhe: Assim diz o SENHOR Deus dos hebreus: Deixa o meu povo ir, para que me sirva.2 Porque se te recusares a deixá-los ir, e os detiveres por força,3 eis que a mão do SENHOR será sobre teu gado que está no campo, sobre os cavalos, sobre os jumentos, sobre os camelos, sobre os bois, e sobre as ovelhas; haverá uma grande praga.4 E o SENHOR separará o gado de Israel e o gado do Egito; e não morrerá nada de tudo o que for dos filhos de Israel.5 E o SENHOR determinou um tempo certo, dizendo: Amanhã o SENHOR fará isto na terra.6 E o SENHOR o fez no dia seguinte, e todo o gado do Egito morreu, mas do gado dos filhos de Israel não morreu nenhum.7 E Faraó mandou ver, e eis que do gado dos israelitas nenhum morrera. E o coração de Faraó foi endurecido, e ele não deixou o povo ir.8 E disse o SENHOR a Moisés e a Arão: Tomai para vós mãos cheias de cinzas do forno, e que Moisés as espalhe para o céu à vista de Faraó.9 E se tornará em pó fino sobre toda a terra do Egito, e furúnculos que arrebentarão em úlcera sobre o homem, e sobre o animal, em toda a terra do Egito.10 E eles tomaram as cinzas do forno, e puseram-se diante de Faraó. E Moisés as espalhou para o céu, e elas se tornaram em feridas que arrebentavam em úlceras sobre o homem e sobre o animal.11 E os magos não conseguiram ficar diante de Moisés por causa das feridas, pois a ferida estava sobre os magos, e sobre todos os egípcios.12 E o SENHOR endureceu o coração de Faraó, e ele não os ouviu, como o SENHOR havia dito a Moisés.13 E o SENHOR disse a Moisés: Levanta-te de manhã cedo, e coloca-te diante de Faraó, e dize a ele: Assim diz o SENHOR Deus dos hebreus: Deixa o meu povo ir, para que me sirva.14 Porque desta vez enviarei todas as minhas pragas sobre o teu coração, e sobre os teus servos, e sobre o teu povo, para que saibas que não há ninguém como eu em toda a terra.15 Porquanto agora estenderei a minha mão, para que eu fira a ti e a teu povo com peste, e tu serás cortado da terra.16 E na verdade é por esta causa que eu te levantei, para mostrar o meu poder em ti, e para que o meu nome seja declarado em toda a terra.17 Ainda te exaltas contra o meu povo, não o deixando ir?18 Eis que amanhã a essa hora, farei chover um grande granizo, tal como não houve no Egito, desde a sua fundação até agora.19 Por isso, envia agora, e ajunta o teu gado, e tudo que tens no campo; pois sobre todo homem e todo animal que for encontrado no campo, e não for trazido para casa, cairá o granizo, e morrerão.20 Aquele que temeu a palavra do SENHOR entre os servos de Faraó fez seus servos e seu gado fugir para dentro das casas,21 e aquele que não considerou a palavra do SENHOR deixou os seus servos e o seu gado no campo.22 E o SENHOR disse a Moisés: Estende a tua mão para o céu, para que haja granizo em toda a terra do Egito, sobre o homem, e sobre o animal, e sobre toda erva do campo na terra do Egito.23 E Moisés estendeu seu cajado para o céu, e o SENHOR enviou trovão e granizo, e o fogo desceu à terra; e o SENHOR fez chover granizo sobre a terra do Egito.24 Assim houve granizo, e fogo misturado com granizo, muito grave, tal como não houve em toda a terra do Egito desde que se tornou uma nação.25 E o granizo feriu, em toda a terra do Egito, tudo que estava no campo, tanto homem como animal; e o granizo feriu toda erva do campo, e quebrou cada árvore do campo.26 Somente na terra de Gósen, onde os filhos de Israel estavam, não houve granizo.27 E Faraó enviou, e chamou Moisés e Arão, e lhes disse: Pequei desta vez; o SENHOR é justo, e eu e meu povo somos ímpios.28 Rogai ao SENHOR (pois é o suficiente) para que não haja mais trovões fortes e granizo, e eu vos deixarei ir, e não ficareis mais aqui.29 E Moisés lhe disse: Assim que eu sair da cidade, estenderei minhas mãos ao SENHOR; e o trovão cessará, nem haverá mais granizo, para que saibas que a terra é do SENHOR.30 Mas quanto a ti e a teus servos, sei que não temereis o SENHOR Deus.31 E o linho e a cevada foram feridos, porque a cevada já estava na espiga, e o linho estava enrolado.32 Mas o trigo e o centeio não foram feridos, pois não eram crescidos.33 E Moisés saiu da presença de Faraó e de sua cidade, e estendeu suas mãos ao SENHOR, e os trovões e o granizo cessaram, e a chuva não foi derramada sobre a terra.34 E quando Faraó viu que a chuva e o granizo e os trovões haviam cessado, pecou ainda mais, e endureceu seu coração, ele e os seus servos.35 E o coração de Faraó foi endurecido, e não deixou os filhos de Israel ir, como o SENHOR havia dito por Moisés.
1 And Jehovah said to Moses, Go in to Pharaoh and speak to him, Thus says Jehovah the God of the Hebrews: Let My people go, that they may serve Me.2 And if you refuse to let them go, and still hold them,3 behold, the hand of Jehovah will be upon your cattle in the field, upon the horses, upon the donkeys, upon the camels, upon the oxen, and upon the sheep; a very heavy pestilence.4 And Jehovah will make a distinction between the livestock of Israel and the livestock of Egypt, and nothing shall die of all that belongs to the children of Israel.5 And Jehovah appointed a set time, saying, Tomorrow Jehovah will do this thing in the land.6 And Jehovah did this thing on the next day, and all the livestock of Egypt died; but of the livestock of the children of Israel, not one died.7 And Pharaoh sent, and behold, not even one of the livestock of the Israelites was dead. And Pharaohs heart was hardened, and he did not let the people go.8 And Jehovah said to Moses and Aaron, Take for yourselves handfuls of ashes from a furnace, and let Moses toss it toward the heavens before Pharaohs eyes.9 And it shall become fine dust in all the land of Egypt, and it shall be an inflammation breaking out into boils upon man and beast throughout all the land of Egypt.10 And they took ashes from the furnace and stood before Pharaoh, and Moses tossed them toward the heavens. And they became inflammations breaking out into boils upon man and beast.11 And the magicians could not stand before Moses because of the inflammations, for the inflammations were upon the magicians and upon all the Egyptians.12 And Jehovah hardened the heart of Pharaoh; and he did not heed them, as Jehovah had spoken to Moses.13 And Jehovah said to Moses, Rise early in the morning and stand before Pharaoh, and say to him, Thus says Jehovah the God of the Hebrews: Let My people go, that they may serve Me,14 for at this time I will send all My plagues upon your heart, and upon your servants and upon your people, that you may come to understand that there is no one like Me in all the earth.15 For if I had stretched forth My hand and struck you and your people with pestilence, then you would have been cut off from the earth.16 And indeed for this purpose I have ordained you, to show My power in you, and to declare My name in all the earth.17 As yet you exalt yourself against My people in that you will not let them go.18 Behold, tomorrow about this time I will cause very heavy hail to rain down, such as has not been in Egypt since its founding until now.19 Therefore send now and gather your livestock and all that you have in the field, for the hail shall come down upon every man and every animal which is found in the field and is not brought into shelter; and they shall die.20 The ones who feared the word of Jehovah among the servants of Pharaoh made their servants and their livestock flee to the shelters.21 But the ones who did not set their heart upon the word of Jehovah left their servants and their livestock in the field.22 And Jehovah said to Moses, Stretch forth your hand toward the heavens, that there may be hail in all the land of Egypt; upon man, upon beast, and upon every plant of the field, throughout the land of Egypt.23 And Moses stretched forth his staff toward the heavens; and Jehovah sent thunder and hail, and fire went to the ground. And Jehovah rained hail upon the land of Egypt.24 So there was hail, and fire in the midst of the hail, so very heavy that there was none like it in all the land of Egypt since it became a nation.25 And the hail struck throughout the whole land of Egypt, all that was in the field, both man and beast; and the hail struck every plant of the field and shattered every tree of the field.26 Only in the land of Goshen, where the children of Israel were, there was no hail.27 And Pharaoh sent and summoned Moses and Aaron, and said to them, I have sinned this time. Jehovah is righteous, and I and my people are wicked.28 Entreat Jehovah, that there be no more Divine thundering and hail, for it is enough. I will let you go, and you shall stay no longer.29 And Moses said to him, As soon as I have gone out of the city, I will spread out my hands to Jehovah. The thunder shall cease, and there shall be no more hail; that you may know that the earth is Jehovahs.30 But as for you and your servants, I know that you do not yet fear before Jehovah God.31 Now the flax and the barley were struck, for the barley was in the head and the flax was in bud.32 But the wheat and the spelt were not struck, for they are late crops.33 And Moses went out of the city from Pharaoh and spread out his hands to Jehovah. And the thunder and the hail ceased, and the rain was not poured upon the earth.34 And when Pharaoh saw that the rain, the hail, and the thunder had ceased, he sinned again, and hardened his heart; he and his servants.35 And the heart of Pharaoh was hardened; neither would he let the children of Israel go, as Jehovah had spoken by the hand of Moses.
